In January 2023, Pamela Anderson‘s fans got an intimate view of her life alongside her sons, Brandon Thomas Lee and Dylan Jagger Lee, on her Netflix documentary Pamela, a Love Story. Brandon even produced the film himself.
“Brandon’s seen a ton of it,” said the exploited Baywatch alum of revisiting her archives with her firstborn by ex-husband Tommy Lee. “He’s been doing this for two years, so this has been a long process and as a mom, you never want to burden your kids. But this has kind of been a fun family project, but it had a lot of emotion tied to it.”
Brandon chimed in, saying that his mother’s “reclaimed narrative” was not new to him. “I’ve known her my whole life, but when I think of my mom, I think of an incredibly well-read, intelligent, well-spoken, kind-hearted, passionate person, and I just think the world has never really seen her like that,” he explained.
However, as a parent, Pam has quite the unconventional take on her sons experimenting on different substances… Here’s a closer look at their bond, as well as Tommy’s current relationship with Brandon and Dylan.
What Pamela Anderson & Tommy Lee’s Sons Feel About Their Tape
With Pam and Tommy’s history well-documented on the internet, one can’t help but wonder how their sons feel about their infamous sex tape. For Brandon, he thinks his mom should have monetized the scandal.
“I wish she would’ve made the money. She would’ve made millions of dollars if she just would’ve signed a piece of paper,” he said. “Instead she sat back with nothing and watched her career fizzle into thin air. She was in debt most of her life.”
The owner of Penthouse magazine notably offered the couple $5 million in cash for the rights to the tape. Dylan said his mom’s refusal to sign the deal says so much about her true character.
“I think it would’ve been a different story if she did cash in on the tape,” he shared. “It just shows you, right? That thing guaranteed made people millions of dollars, and she was like, ‘No.’ She 100% cared about her family being OK and me being OK. Never cared about money.”

Pamela Anderson Doesn’t Mind Her Sons Experimenting With Substances
There’s no denying that Pam has raised amazing sons — with them being that open-minded and protective of her after all the controversies she’s faced throughout her career. It’s probably because she gives them the freedom to explore, even when it comes to drugs, alcohol, and sex.
“We want them to practice safe sex, drink and experiment with drugs in moderation, find true love,” Pam wrote on her website in 2015, later noting on FOX411’s Pop Tarts column that she trusts her sons’ decisions. “I really believe in my kids. My kids have had a great foundation, they have seen the world.”
She continued: “They’ve made great choices. They are really smart people, I am not afraid of my kids surfing the Internet. I think they are making proper decisions and you can’t be in denial of what life has to offer. I don’t know how much of a role model their parents are, but we’ve had a lot of fun.”
Tommy Lee’s Relationship With His Sons With Pamela Anderson
In 2018, Brandon admitted to punching his dad in self-defense. He claimed that he was only defending her mom after Tommy’s public comments about her at that time. When asked if his dad has seen Pam’s documentary, Brandon told E! News during the premiere, “I don’t know, actually. I have no idea.”
In 2020, Tommy opened up about not giving life advice to his sons. “Sometimes it’s better to kind of fall down and bump your head on your own,” he told Us Weekly. “I guess it’s all part of the learning process. You can sit here and wave flags and give advice and throw flares all you want, but sometimes the best lessons are those self-learned.”
He does “throw in a little two cents here and there,” as he believes “you can help somebody avoid mistakes that you’ve made.” Of course, he also supports them “in everything they do.” The Mötley Crüe drummer added that “Dylan’s mellow and musical and he’s got that side of [me]. And then Brandon’s hyper and he’s got that side of [me]. He’s outgoing and it’s just funny.”
Although it’s unclear whether the musician has actually seen the docu-film or not, in one of the scenes, Pam admitted that she had asked him about his thoughts on Hulu’s unauthorized miniseries Pam & Tommy. He responded: “Pamela, just don’t let it hurt you as much as it did the first time.”
