Paul O’Grady’s husband revealed the pair shared a cannabis joint at their home in Kent.

Andre Portasio told a star-studded memorial gathering about his partner’s final moments before his death.

He shared that the television star popped into the kitchen to make a “cup of tea” on the night he died — their special code for rolling a joint.

The 67-year-old came back into the living room to smoke the cannabis joint with his long-term partner before he died in a chair.

According to The Sun, Andre said: “We’d had a very ordinary day, just watching TV together at home, when Paul said he wanted to make a ‘cup of tea,’ and that was our little code for rolling a spliff.

“So Paul went to the kitchen to make a cup of tea, brought it back, lit it and started smoking it – and that was our last time together, the last thing we did. He passed away there in his chair.”

The memorial service was said to be filled with anecdotes about their lives together – with many untold stories shared with guests who attended the service.

It is the first time Paul’s pals had heard details of the last hours of the star, who died after an exhausting seven-month work schedule.

Andre also dished on the animal lover’s hate of cheap hotels while filming.

A number of famous faces were in attendance at Thursday night’s memorial service including Amanda Holden, Sheila Hancock, Dawn French and Alan Carr.

Comedian Julian Clary was also among the speakers at the memorial service as he paid tribute to the Lily Savage star.

The TV presenter’s unfortunate and sudden death had been confirmed as sudden cardiac arrhythmia, as stated on his death certificate.

His husband said the loss had come as “unexpectedly” to his loved ones as he made the devastating news public on social media.

“It is with great sadness that I inform you that Paul has passed away unexpectedly but peacefully yesterday evening,” Andre penned at the time.

“We ask, at this difficult time, that whilst you celebrate his life you also respect our privacy as we come to terms with this loss.

“He will be greatly missed by his loved ones, friends, family, animals and all those who enjoyed his humour, wit and compassion.

“I know that he would want me to thank you for all the love you have shown him over the years.”
