Pete Davidson is getting ready for his biggest role yet — fatherhood!

The Saturday Night Live alum, 31, is expecting his first child with girlfriend Elsie Hewitt, and he couldn’t be more thrilled about this exciting new chapter. On July 16, Elsie, 29, took to Instagram to share the happy news with a series of intimate snaps, including ultrasound footage and photos of Pete lovingly cradling her growing baby bump.

“Welp now everyone knows we had sex,” Elsie cheekily captioned the post — a very on-brand announcement for the model and influencer, who has kept much of her relationship with Pete relatively private until now.

While Pete doesn’t use social media himself, he confirmed the news and gushed about impending fatherhood in an interview with Entertainment Tonight on July 22.

“I honestly couldn’t be more excited,” Pete shared. “It’s been my dream forever since I was a little kid. The baby’s mother is one of my favorite people to ever exist ever. She’s going to be a great mom and I’m just stoked. I hope to be the dad I hoped that I would have.”

Pete’s father, a firefighter, tragically died while responding to the September 11 attacks in 2001, when Pete was just 7 years old — a loss he’s spoken about frequently throughout his career.

During an appearance the same night on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Pete reflected further on his emotional journey and how his perspective has shifted since finding out he’s going to be a dad.

“Everything else doesn’t really matter anymore,” he said. “It’s nice.”

The couple’s relationship timeline has been mostly under the radar — a stark contrast to Pete’s headline-making romances with stars like Ariana Grande, Kim Kardashian and Madelyn Cline. According to the Associated Press, Pete and Elsie were first linked in March after being spotted together in Palm Springs. Days later, Elsie made things Instagram official with a candid photo of Pete, and the two have since shared occasional red carpet appearances and playful PDA moments.

Though more low-key than some of their past relationships, both stars are no strangers to Hollywood’s dating scene. Elsie has previously been linked to Ryan Phillippe, Benny Blanco, and Jason Sudeikis.

Still, Pete has made it clear that fatherhood has always been the dream.

“My favorite thing ever, which I have yet to achieve, is I want to have a kid,” he told fellow comedian Kevin Hart back in 2022. “It’s like my dream.”

“It would be so fun to dress up a little dude,” he continued. “I’m so excited for, like, that chapter. So that’s kind of what I’m just preparing for now. I’m trying to be as good as a dude and develop and get better so when that happens, it’s just easier.”
