In the video, Brooklyn addresses the camera, saying, “You’re probably wondering why I’m watching the FIFA World Cup 2026 from home…” He wraps up the ad with a chuckle, noting, “It’s a long story.” The commercial, created by DoorDash, has sparked intrigue and speculation about hidden messages.
Notably, the ad showcases Brooklyn wearing a brand new watch placed on his coffee table, seemingly dismissing the significance of his £250,000 Patek Philippe Nautilus watch given to him by his father, David Beckham. David, a legendary soccer player, participated in three World Cups in 1998, 2002, and 2006. This deliberate display has left many wondering about its implications.
Adding to the intrigue, the video also features a stack of unopened letters, which some viewers interpret as a symbolic nod to Brooklyn’s rumored distance from his family. This subtle detail has fueled discussions about his relationship with his famous parents.
Friends close to David and Victoria Beckham have reportedly been taken aback by what they perceive as a subtle jab in the advertisement. Meanwhile, television personality Piers Morgan has openly criticized Brooklyn’s involvement in the ad campaign.
In a statement shared on social media platform X, Piers Morgan expressed his disbelief, comparing Brooklyn to another well-known figure, writing, “Wow. He really is the Prince Harry of spoiled brat entitled sons. Imagine doing this to your family for cash?” This comment has only added to the swirling controversy surrounding the video.
One X user responded: “You got a real bee in your bonet about Harry and Meghan. Let it go! It’s been said and done.”
Brooklyn has faced such intense criticism from his Instagram followers who condemned him for his advert on the social media platform that he has subsequently altered his settings to restrict who can comment.
Brooklyn has purportedly rejected multiple opportunities to reconcile with his parents, brothers and sister. Just this Friday, his sister Harper, 14, visited his Beverly Hills residence to deliver a handwritten note.
Nevertheless, any hopes the young star harboured of offering an olive branch to her older brother were crushed as Harper didn’t enter the property.
Instead, Brooklyn was in New York, on the opposite side of the United States and posted an image of himself on a run.
Following the photographs of his sister surfacing, a source said that Brooklyn felt “uncomfortable” and claimed that it was an “orchestrated move by his family.”
Sources close to his parents had reacted strongly after Brooklyn’s team claimed the photographs had been “choreographed”.
“It is incredibly sad that this horrible accusation is being levelled at an innocent young girl who just desperately misses her brother,” a source close to his parents said.
