Piers Morgan, the well-known face of TalkTV, recently updated his followers after a stint in the hospital. The 60-year-old media personality posted an Instagram photo showcasing his reliance on crutches but expressed relief at being back in the comfort of his home.

In his post, Piers expressed gratitude for the support from his friends and family following his unexpected hospital visit. Accompanying his post, he wrote: “Home sweet home. [Star-eyed emoji] Loving my Breaking News @coolcrutches – huge thanks to @noholdenback & Chris. Just in time with President Trump creating quite a stir in Davos.”

The images he shared began with him using the crutches to stand, posing beside a television screen displaying Donald Trump. Another photo highlighted the crutches adorned with a breaking news theme, and a final image featured a thoughtful note from Heart Radio’s Amanda Holden, which said: “Here’s something to help you get back on your feet. All our love Amanda and Chris xxx.”

Piers revealed to his audience that he had a sudden hospital visit, resulting in a full hip replacement and a future of weeks spent with crutches.

To clear up any speculation, the TV personality took to X to reassure fans, stating: “Just to set the record straight, ZERO alcohol was involved in the incident @GMB @susannareid100.”

It comes after the incident was addressed on his former show Good Morning Britain.

The broadcaster, 60, sparked concern after revealing he had been rushed to hospital following a fall at a London hotel restaurant.

He revealed the full extent of his injuries. Sharing an X-ray image on Instagram, he explained he had broken his hip after tripping “like a sack of spuds” on a small step inside the restaurant.

Posting a selfie from his hospital bed alongside the scan showing a fracture to the neck of his femur, he confirmed doctors had advised urgent surgery to give him a new hip.

He also shared that medical professionals had advised he would be on crutches for six weeks and he would not be allowed on any long-haul flights for 12 weeks.

Piers added: “New Year off to a cracking start! I blame Donald Trump.”
