Somebody call 911 – wait, somebody already did during the wild Secret Lives of Mormon Wives season 2 trailer. Drama from the previous season will be addressed, all while a fresh batch of feuds arise.
Hulu dropped the first look at the upcoming season of Mormon Wives on Tuesday, April 22. Season 1 stars Taylor Frankie Paul, Demi Engemann, Jen Affleck, Jessi Ngatikaura, Layla Taylor, Mayci Neeley, Mikayla Matthews and Whitney Leavitt made cameos in the trailer alongside season 2 rookie, Miranda McWhorter.
Miranda, 27, may be new to the series, but she’s no stranger to members of the friend group. She was Taylor’s “ex-best friend” and is going to “set the record straight” on the viral TikTok swinging scandal she was involved in with Taylor, 30.
Demi, 30, didn’t seem to be happy about embracing a new cast member as she was seen telling the returning women that “anybody that comes in at this point is clout chasing.”
“Life has been a blur. MomTok has become a nationwide trend,” Taylor said during the first moments of the trailer.
Mayci, 30, added, “I never imagined for everything to blow up like this. But it’s a double-edged sword.”
Marriages and relationships will face major tests as Jen, 25, and husband Zac Affleck “have been pretty rocky” since he got mad about her night out at Chippendales with the other women during season 1. Jen seemingly put her foot down about not being allowed by Zac, 28, to attend the show because Zac watched her get danced on by a male stripper in the season 2 trailer.
By the end of the trailer, Zac removed himself from an emotional conversation with Jen and asked the production staff to cut the cameras.
Meanwhile, Taylor’s on-again, off-again relationship with now-ex Dakota Mortensen was highlighted as they navigated his sobriety after welcoming their son, Ever True.
Self-proclaimed queen B of the group, Whitney, 31, attempted to get into good graces with her friends after she burned bridges with them during season 1. Jessi and Mikayla made it clear they didn’t want to give her another chance to be “manipulative” with the group, which Whitney thought was overdramatic.
“I just think everybody needs to get the freaking stick out of their –,” Whitney said in a confessional clip.
A Hulu crossover moment occurred in the trailer as the Secret Lives of Mormon Wives cast traveled to Italy for a vacation in Vanderpump Villa’s chateau. Demi had flirtatious exchange with one of the staff members and in the Mormon Wives trailer, an unidentified person can be heard saying Demi sent out a cease and desist about her involvement in the trip.
Jen told somebody that “things went down in Vanderpump Villa,” and Demi said during a different moment that she will “dominate her” if she “comes” for the unknown cast member.
Tensions came to a head at a themed party, where two men get into an altercation before police arrived at the scene.
The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives season 2 will feature 10 episodes and premieres on Hulu and Disney+ on May 15.
