Prince William and Kate Middleton Address Epstein File Revelations for the First Time

Prince William and Princess Kate Middleton are responding to the ongoing revelations concerning the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, as new documents continue to surface. The royal couple is expressing their concern over the situation and its impact on the victims involved.

A spokesperson for William and Kate shared on Monday, February 9, that the couple is “deeply concerned by the continuing revelations” related to Epstein. “Their thoughts remain focused on the victims,” the spokesperson emphasized. This statement comes as Prince William, 43, embarked on a three-day visit to Saudi Arabia.

Until now, William and Kate, 44, had remained silent regarding the Epstein files, which have implicated Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor in the financier’s scandal. Earlier in the month, Prince Edward became the first royal to publicly address the issue.

At the World Governments Summit in Dubai on February 3, the Duke of Edinburgh, 61, responded to questions about how he was handling the situation. “Well, with the best will in the world, I’m not sure this is the audience that is probably the least bit interested in that,” Edward remarked, noting that attendees were more focused on discussions about education and future solutions.

What the New Epstein Files Said About Prince Andrew

The spotlight continues to shine on Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor as additional Jeffrey Epstein documents emerge. The third release of these files by the United States Justice Department earlier this month has mentioned Andrew multiple times. His connection to Epstein was first brought to light in 2019 when Virginia Giuffre made allegations about their association.

Edward added, “But no, I think it’s all really important always to remember the victims, and who are the victims in all this, a lot of victims in all this.”

Epstein died by suicide at age 66 in August 2019 while being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in New York. Last month, more than 100 photos were released from the Epstein estate, including three of Andrew, 65, with an unidentified woman.

The files also included an email sent by Andrew’s ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, to Epstein with an apparent crude reference to her daughter Princess Eugenie. The exchange, which took place in March 2010, began with Epstein asking when a contact named Sarah would visit him in New York City.

The reply read, “Not sure yet. Just waiting for Eugenie to come back from a shagging weekend!!”

In a separate email chain from January 2010, Sarah referred to Epstein as a “legend” and wrote, “I really don’t have the words to describe, my love, gratitude for your generosity and kindness. Xx I am at your service. Just marry me.”

Inside Sarah Ferguson Friendship With Jeffrey Epstein 2

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, has also come under fire for her close-knit relationship with late billionaire sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein. In January 2026, the United States Department of Justice released the latest batch of Epstein Files, which included alleged email correspondence between Epstein and Ferguson. Ferguson allegedly referred to Epstein as a “legend” and […]

Andrew’s ties to Epstein have been making headlines since 2019, when the royal was accused of sexual assault by the late Virginia Giuffre. She sued Andrew in 2021 for sexual abuse, and the pair settled out of court. Andrew denied the allegations but was officially stripped of his royal titles last year.

“Prince Andrew will now be known as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor,” read a statement from the royal family in October 2025. “His lease on Royal Lodge has, to date, provided him with legal protection to continue in residence. Formal notice has now been served to surrender the lease and he will move to alternative private accommodation.”

The move came shortly after Giuffre’s memoir, Nobody’s Girl, was posthumously released with more details about her alleged encounters with Andrew and Epstein. (Giuffre died by suicide in April 2025. She was 41.)

“These censures are deemed necessary, notwithstanding the fact that [Andrew] continues to deny the allegations against him,” the royal family’s statement continued. “Their Majesties wish to make clear that their thoughts and utmost sympathies have been, and will remain with, the victims and survivors of any and all forms of abuse.”
