Princess Beatrice is reportedly contemplating a relocation to the United States amid the fallout from her father, former Prince Andrew’s, controversial links to Jeffrey Epstein.
According to a report by the Daily Mail, Beatrice is said to be deeply embarrassed by the Epstein scandal and is striving to maintain family stability amidst the intense public scrutiny.
While her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi’s real estate business is a significant factor in their decision-making, moving to the U.S. is becoming a more viable option, especially considering the example set by other family members who have already left the UK.
“Her sister Eugenie has lived abroad for several years, which has established a precedent,” the source explained, noting that such a move “would have been unimaginable a few years ago, but circumstances have vastly changed.”
Relocating overseas, likely to the United States, could offer Beatrice and Edoardo a fresh start, providing an opportunity to rejuvenate their marriage and embark on a new chapter together.
The couple allegedly feels they would be “sitting ducks” by staying in the UK because “the Andrew and Sarah [Ferguson] problem isn’t going to go away.”
“There is the police investigation which will last several months and if Andrew is charged then there will be a trial and that’s just more attention they can do without,” the insider noted.
“A move to the United States would certainly seem obvious for them. Edo spends a lot of time there so I can easily see them moving there.”
And with the help of their cousin Prince Harry — who relocated to the US with his wife, Meghan Markle, after resigning from their positions as royals — the likelihood of the possibility has increased.
“Both sisters are in touch with their cousin Harry, and he has been offering them advice and there was talk of them staying in California for a while,” said the source.
Mountbatten-Windsor was arrested on the day of his 66th birthday in February on suspicion of misconduct in public office for allegedly forwarding confidential trade documents to Epstein.
If convicted, he is potentially facing a maximum sentence of life in prison.
According to the source, the arrest news allegedly “really hit the sisters hard and especially Beatrice because she needed Edo with her and he was away with work in the United States, drumming up trade for his property business.”
The moment significantly damaged her marriage as “she needed a shoulder to cry on, but he wasn’t there for her and that really upset her but they are desperate to make a good go of things.”
“They know how things appear, but they want to really try,” added the source.
