The Blind Side star Quinton Aaron is reportedly receiving medical care after experiencing a fall at his residence.
As reported by TMZ on Sunday, January 25, the 41-year-old actor was admitted to a hospital in Atlanta, Georgia, three days prior. The incident occurred when Aaron was ascending the stairs in his apartment and suddenly lost the ability to move his legs, leading to his collapse.
Us Weekly has attempted to contact Aaron’s representative for further details.
Additionally, the Daily Mail released information on Sunday suggesting that Aaron, who is known for portraying college football player Michael Oher opposite Sandra Bullock in the 2009 film, is contending with a “severe blood infection.” This condition reportedly led to him being placed on life support, as mentioned in a GoFundMe campaign established for his benefit.
TMZ’s reporting, however, disputed the claim with Aaron’s manager telling the outlet that “he’s stable, communicating with his family and team, and receiving precisely the care needed at this time.”
TMZ also noted that the manager said doctors “are still running tests and evaluating Quinton’s condition, and at this time, there’s no definitive word on what caused the fall.”
The reports come three months after Aaron, who also starred in The Wedding Pact 2 alongside Haylie Duff and Left Behind opposite Nicolas Cage, took to social media to reveal that he’d lost 200 pounds. “Hey guys it has definitely been a tough few years since Covid. Made new friends and lost old ones. However, last year when I married my #puertoriqueña @margaritaleta75 I feel like God started smiling on me and I praise him for his grace and mercy and favor in my life,” Aaron captioned an October 14 Instagram carousel that showed his physical transformation.
The post continued, “At my heaviest, I was 575 pounds. As of today, I am 370 pounds.”
The snaps showed him posing in pants that no longer fit him, as well as full-length frames that flaunted a slim figure. Aaron was also seen flashing a smile after getting a haircut.
During an interview with TMZ at the time, Aaron detailed that he’s shed the weight by incorporating diet changes and cardio sessions.
He also shared his motivation for the body transformation with the outlet, citing his wife, Margarita Aaron, whom he married in December 2024. “Mentally, physically and emotionally, she has been my confidant and shelter through my storms,” Quinton told the outlet. “I truly believe God was blessing me with one of his angels when he sent her to me. She’s helped me get over my depression and so much more. She loves to tell people that she only does 5 percent and I do the other 95 percent but I believe she’s much more important in my life than even she gives herself credit for.”
Earlier in 2025, Aaron was admitted into the hospital after suffering type A influenza and walking pneumonia. A friend of Aaron’s, Liana Mendoze, told Us Weekly exclusively in March that year that an “ancient witch doctor style of healing” led to her friend’s recovery.
She said that after antibiotics failed, a spiritual healer visited him to perform a spiritual cleansing known as limpia that is said to rid the body of negative energy. From there, she said, Aaron began “turning the corner.”
Per the Institute of Shamanism and Curanderismo, a limpia is a Mexican ritual that “cleanses the body, emotions, mind and soul from negative energies and thoughts.”
