After a decade-long hiatus from the world of reality television, Rachel Zoe makes her anticipated comeback as a member of the cast on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Beyond her return to this popular series, Zoe is renowned for her influential presence in the fashion industry and her role as a dynamic entrepreneur.
Unsurprisingly, fans are thrilled to welcome Rachel back to the small screen. However, rather than stirring controversy, Rachel has expressed a desire to introduce a refreshing energy to the show.
During an interview with People, Rachel candidly discussed the transformative period she is experiencing. This season will portray Rachel as newly single, following her recent separation from Rodger Berman, her husband of over 20 years.
Rachel Wants To Normalize Divorce
In a conversation with People, Rachel got real about the latest phase of her life. The new season will find Rachel newly single, as she recently split from her husband of more than two decades, Rodger Berman.
While speaking with the outlet, Rachel said her goal was to be authentic on-camera, and to make other women going through their own breakups feel seen:
Iām very honest about where I am and what I am dealing with on [the show]. I think my goal is really to share the reality of my life. And everyoneās going through stuff, right? Iām trying to help as many women as possible.
“I mean, probably at least 30% of the women in my life are going through a separation or a divorce,” she noted, adding how common of an occurrence this type of thing was.
Rachel Offered Encouragement To Viewers
Another major part of this season for Rachel is the way that she cares for her sons. She noted that she’d previously spoken with them to get their permission before agreeing to RHOBH, and that she continues to feel protective of them.
In the same conversation with People, Rachel was able to speak with confidence about her current standing as she returns to RHOBH. “The question I kept getting asked is: āWhy am I so okay coming out of a relationship that really transcended my entire adult life?ā Itās because Iām independentāfinancially, professionally, and socially. I think there isnāt enough emphasis put on the importance of that,” she pointed out.
As part of her goal coming back to the franchise, Rachel added that she hoped single parents would also be able to take comfort in witnessing her journey. She explained that, while she always tried to be strong in work and in her personal life, now she was doing it with the thought of being a role model in mind.
Rachel offered some works of encouragement to fans who might be tuning in:
No matter what life throws at you, you have to be able to stand on your own.
