Alaskan Bush People star Rain Brown and her husband, Josiah Lorton, were arrested and charged with first-degree burglary and first-degree malicious mischief, In Touch has learned.

The couple was booked into the Okanogan County jail in Washington State on April 11, according to jail records obtained by In Touch. Rain, 22, and Josiah, 33, were released on Monday, April 14, on their own recognizance. They weren’t required to post bail but promised to appear for their next scheduled court date.

Rain was booked under her full legal name, Merry Christmas Kathryn Raindrop Brown. In addition to the burglary and mischief charges, she was also hit with a third charge of second-degree criminal trespass.

No details were available about the nature of why Rain and Josiah were arrested.

The arrests come less than three months after the TLC star announced she married Josiah after less than two years of dating.

Rain wrote via Instagram, “Baby, this is our world now. Yes. I’m married, y’all,” on January 30, along with a photo of the pair dressed in stylish outerwear, posing in rolling hills with a snow-capped peak in the background.

Fans left celebratory messages in the comments for the Discovery Channel star.

“Congratulations Rain. I am so happy you found your happiness,” one person commented. A second fan wrote, “Married! Wait what? I need to find fill in episodes and clips lol. I started watching you all about 9 yrs ago and now only just catching up. It’s absolutely mind blowing and to see everyone off doing their own thing is like wow. Congratulations woman and I hope it’s truly what makes you happy.”

Rain first revealed she was dating Josiah in a December 2023 Instagram post, sharing a selfie of him planting a kiss on her cheek.

“Cats outta the bag you guys! Ladies and gents my heart is TAKEN,” the reality star shared.

Rain continued, “I had hopes that I would be able to do a grand reveal, but the internet is a very fast place, as I’m sure there are a lot of questions … I’m tickled you guys.”

In January 2024, Rain shared a heartwarming tribute to her boyfriend, telling fans, “Forever grateful for this guy,” while giving a deeper glimpse into their love story.

“Very few are blessed enough to have found that someone so early in life and especially at such a random place,” she explained. “Josiah and I met at work of all places. I was a waitress, and he was the head chef, we were fast friends and slowly fell madly in love with each other. It was like magnets that you just couldn’t keep apart any longer.”

“One day I came to visit, and I never left. Josiah has showed me what real pure genuine love is and continues to show me every day what a beautiful thing this life can be,” Rain gushed. “And baby I give you my word you will always have a home with me, I will never abandon you, I will never give up on you, I will always cherish you, and above all else I will show you the love you have showed me tenfold! I love you forever my loves.”

The last time Rain appeared on The Discovery Channel was when Alaskan Bush People season 14 came to an end in December 2022.

The show was claimed to be canceled in March amid a $500,000 lawsuit between the estate of late patriarch Billy Brown and his business partner, Robert Maughon, according to a report from The U.S. Sun published on March 10.

The outlet reported that Robert filed a breach of contract lawsuit against Billy’s estate and business, Alaskan Wilderness Family Productions, in April 2021 — just two months after the reality star died at 68 years old after suffering from a seizure.

The Discovery Channel has not officially announced the cancellation of Alaskan Bush People as of April 15, but network reps also haven’t said anything about the series returning. Bear Brown, however, admitted that he and his family are “not filming” their show “right now,” but assured fans the show has not been axed.

Bear, 37, claimed that the reason for the show’s extended hiatus was due to Discovery’s “super big merger a few years ago,” telling fans the network is “still getting their ducks in a row” after WarnerMedia merged with Discovery, Inc. to become Warner Bros. Discovery in April 2022.

Alaskan Bush People premiered in 2014, with the reality series following the life of family patriarch Billy, his wife Ami Brown, and their seven children who lived off the land near Hoonah, Alaska. Rain is the youngest of the couple’s children, as she was born in 2002. The family later relocated to Tonasket, Washington, which was shown in season 8 of Alaskan Bush People.
