Raven-Symoné is reflecting on the breast-reduction surgeries she underwent during her teenage years—and the fact that she was too young to make the decision with greater confidence.
“Do I have any regrets about it? Yes, because I was too young,” the That’s So Raven alum, 40, said on the Monday, October 5, episode of the “Allure Perspectives” podcast. She was discussing the two breast reductions she had as a minor.
“I should have gotten it done after puberty,” Raven-Symoné said. “A lot of other things should have happened, but it was very hastily done. I mean, it was very well done—they still look good—but it happened quickly. I wish I had been stronger and able to say no.”
Still, Raven-Symoné joked that having a larger chest had never bothered her personally.
“I got into anything! I was first in line,” she said. “Push these little babies up, they get you anywhere. These triple Ds were popping.”
The actress added that she now feels about 80 percent comfortable in her own skin, a significant change from the Disney Channel era, when she said her confidence was closer to “10 percent.”
“Me and my chest have conversations on the regular,” she joked.

Raven-Symoné had previously discussed her breast reductions, including the first procedure she underwent at 15, during a December 2024 episode of “Tea Time with Raven & Miranda,” the podcast she hosts with her wife, Miranda Pearman-Maday.
“I went from a triple D all the way down to a B. Someone said I needed to do it in order to get a show,” she recalled. She also chose to have liposuction performed during the same operation.
“I was like, ‘Yeah, if I get lipo, will people stop calling me fat?’ And so, I got a twofer,” Raven-Symoné said.
The surgeries were not without complications. The Raven’s Home actress said she suffered a seizure after waking from anesthesia and continues to have visible scarring on her chest.
“I have scars. I still have scar tissue to this day,” she said. Raven-Symoné also recalled gaining weight afterward and eventually returning for another procedure because her breasts remained larger than other people wanted. “I had to, like, go back for a quick little, like, [get] a little bit more out ’cause [my breasts] were still too big for others’ feelings.”
Looking back, Raven-Symoné said the cultural conversation around bodies has shifted considerably since she was a teenager.
“I felt like boys watched the show because I had big boobs,” she recalled. “I feel like that was the case. They came for the boobs and stayed for the comedy. There’s this beautiful embracing of the body now that I didn’t get as a young girl.”
