Love triangles, speed dating and masquerade balls — 90 Day: Hunt for Love season 1 brought the TLC franchise’s hottest singles to the sun-soaked beaches of Mexico in search of romance. While some, like Rob Warne, dove headfirst into steamy makeout sessions during episode 1, others faced an unexpected twist: running into their exes.

Chantel Everett Was the First to Arrive to Paradise

Chantel Everett, who announced her split from ex-husband Pedro Jimeno in April 2022, was the first TLC alum to arrive on the beaches of Mexico and was more than ready to find love in paradise.

“I live in Atlanta and the dating pool let’s be honest it has piss in it. The last few years of my dating life have been my ‘hoe phase’ because I’ve dated around,” she told viewers. “I mean I haven’t been a hoe, but I started duty dating, which is dating even if you don’t feel like dating, throwing spaghetti against the wall and seeing what sticks.”

The Georgia native was hopeful to find a romantic connection as she felt she hadn’t “found her groove” since her divorce. “I feel like every time when I think I’ve got it with dating, I don’t,” she told viewers, emphasizing she did not want a “fixer upper.”

Tiffany Franco was the next familiar TLC face to arrive in Mexico, happier than ever after revealing that she lost an impressive 110 pounds since viewers saw her last. While the Maryland native was happy with her progress, she admitted that her love life could be better.

“Obviously I want to find my man but I know there’s other 90-day people here and there’s also going to be like singles that none of us have ever met before, guys and girls,” she said in a confessional. “So I’m curious to see what that is going to look like.”

Tiffany was already familiar with Chantel as they were social media friends and felt like they were going to get along. “I definitely think Chantal and I are going to get along. But she’s stunning. So, although it’s not a competition, I’m like, damn, save some boys for me,” she jokingly said.

Rob, who was “not officially divorced” from Sophie Sierra, admitted that his relationship status could spark some questions, but hoped to skirt around the subject if possible. “I don’t want to lie, but if I can avoid talking about it, I definitely will,” he admitted.

Johanna, the event coordinator, arrived and offered Rob a mask for the masquerade party which was happening later that evening.

Fans were then reintroduced to Usman “SojaBoy” Umar, who was hanging out by the pool. He told the cameras that he wasn’t worried about the dating experience because he was African. “Everybody has big penis,” he candidly told the cameras. “Also women throw their self at me because I’m a SojaBoy swagger boy all the way from Africa.”

The Masquerade Party Starts With a Bang

The evening’s event kicked off with Tiffany and Chantel raising their glasses in a toast to finding their perfect match. As the TLC personalities mingled in the crowd, Tim Malcolm was the next alum to make his debut.

“At the end of the day, I just want a normal relationship where, you know, the girl doesn’t need like a lot of psychiatrists and psychologists at this point in her life,” he told the cameras. “I’ve had my heart broken two or three times. And I definitely think, for example, if you look back at Jennifer and I, that was probably the worst one.”

90 Day Fiance’s Cortney Revealed a Past Romance With SojaBoy

90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days alum Cortney Reardanz was the next to make her arrival as she was spotted ordering a tequila shot at the bar.

“Recently I found out the guy I was planning to marry was lying a lot. He told me he’s never been married. He never has kids and he was actually had two ex-wives and four kids. So, I’m like, oh wow, yeah, whatever I’ve been doing has not been working,” she told producers.

“My mom’s like, ‘Oh, I think your expectations are too high.’ I’m like, ‘basically like, don’t cheat on me or lie to me and like pay my bills.’”

Although no one caught her eye at the party, Cortney noticed a man looking across the party who she already knew.

“I went on vacation with him in Istanbul. [I] started falling for him. I stay the night at his hotel a few times I thought we could be the perfect couple but once we left and went home, he just completely like stopped talking to me and now here he is,” the Florida native revealed to fans, referencing none other than SojaBoy.

Jeniffer Tarazona and Colt Johnson were the last two 90 Day Fiancé alums to make their arrival. Colt said he was “out of his element” with all the handsome men and admitted he wasn’t in the “best place” in life.

“Recently divorced, kind of in between jobs, in between homes. This is definitely a low point in my life but, f–k it I’m going to give this my all and have a good time,” he said in a confessional. “And the only thing I really care about is not looking too stupid in front of somebody. But chances of me embarrassing myself pretty much guaranteed.”

Cortney went up to Usman, who bluntly told her that he did not remember who she was. “I feel stupid because I was excited to see him and talk to him,” she admitted to producers. “And then he was pretending not to even know who I am. I’m like, I’m like spent a week with you showing you the city every day, sleeping in your hotel room and you don’t know me.”

Usman later confessed he was joking around with Cortney, “but I don’t think she get it,” he said.

Nick and Tanya, the two personal dating coaches, arrive and announce they’ve organized “a series of mixers, dates and events for this retreat.” Tanya then instructed everyone to remove their masks and asked the men and women to line up separately.

90 Day Fiance’s Tim Confronts Jeniffer at the Masquerade Party

Rob was immediately attracted to Jeniffer. Meanwhile, Tim asked to speak with Tiffany, whom he said he felt the closest to out of everyone in the group. The North Carolina asked Tiffany her opinion on whether he should have a conversation with his ex Jeniffer.

Tiffany recommended he talk to Jeniffer, so he approached her mid-conversation while she was speaking with someone else.

“I don’t want there to be tension. I’m trying to have a good time. I know you’re probably trying to have a good time. And I don’t want any bad blood,” he told her. Jeniffer explained to her date that Tim was her ex and that he had a “big mouth.”

“Tim has always tried to sabotage me in the past. He feels that he’s so entitled to talk shit about me with other people,” she said in a private confessional. “Now I can come for him too. I know that he has a lot of secrets, so he better watch out. Or maybe he’s going to be the time to tell them to the world, too.”

Tim left the conversation by simply telling Jeniffer that they would “stay out of each other’s way.”

Tim returned to sit next to Chantel and told her about the situation with his ex. When asked why they broke up, Tim replied, “She’s a gold digging slut.”

90 Day Fiance’s Chantel Saw Red Flags in Usman

Meanwhile, Usman and Cortney were now being very flirty. “Cortney is pretty, she’s beautiful, but at the same time, she’s not here for me and I’m not here for her. We’re just trying to see what’s going to happen,” he said.

However, Chantel wasn’t convinced and had concerns for Cortney as she was someone who she considered a friend. “And I know all about her trip to Turkey with Usman,” she revealed. “I texted Cortney while she was in Turkey and I told her to watch her back because I’ve read several things on social media about Usman and none of it’s good.”

While Tiffany sparked a new connection with a man named Rocky, Rob also hit it off with a woman named Elise Benson. After boasting about the size of her butt, Elise asked Rob for a kiss. Though he was hesitant since it was only the first night, the two ended up making out.

Usman pulled Chantel aside for a private conversation, telling the camera he did so because she had been “talking s–t” about him.

The “I Love You” rapper told Chantel she should “mind her own business” because she didn’t know the true story of the rumors she had heard.

“Honestly, I really I don’t trust him at all because it’s all over the blogs that Usman is a scammer who just wants a green card,” she said in a confessional. “Cortney is my friend and I know that she can be a little naive when it comes to dating.”

The ’90 Day: Hunt for Love’ Cast Recapped the Night

Chantel, Cortney, Colt, Usman and Tim all joined Tiffany in her room to relax after the evening’s events.

“It’s been an eventful evening. So, I invited a couple people over so that we can kind of like chill out, relax. But I’m going to be honest, I’m like a little Angel baby,” Tiffany joked. “But like, I’ve got my, I’ve got my plans right. So, I want to hear about all the drama that everyone else is going on. And I want it to not include me. I can just be off in the corner observing like the good girl that I am.”

Usman immediately brought up how he didn’t like his interaction with Chantel and she clapped back by saying he was the “aggressive” one.

“I didn’t judge you And I feel like you have some kind of perception about me,” he told her.

Cortney remarked that Usman was just upset because Chantel called him out for being a scammer. Tiffany then stepped in to cut the conversation short, suggesting they continue it another time when everyone’s less tired.

The ‘90 Day: Hunt for Love’ Retreat Began

The next day, Jeniffer arrived at Johanna’s office, where the dating coach explained that each day of the retreat would offer two activity options. That day’s choices were “Flirting 101” and a round of speed dating. Jeniffer asked the dating coach which one Tim had picked — so she could be sure to avoid him.

Tim had yet to make a decision, so she opted for speed dating.

Rob and Usman had breakfast together. Rob told Usman that he knew of his relationship with Kim Menzies through his close friendship with her son, Jamal Menzies, and called the Nigeria native “a good guy.”

“He seems like a good guy, but I’ve only ever known him to date Cougars,” he joked. “So, I’m curious as to why he’s here to meet all these young singles. He might have better luck at a retirement home.”

Jeniffer joined Rob and Usman, who asked about her past relationship with Tim. After she called Tim a “s–t talker,” Usman asked why their relationship never got sexual.

“I think he’s just sexually freak,” she told them. “I mean, one time we went to a strip club, OK? And he paid to a guy to dance for me as he was watching. And I was like, what are you into?”

Rob and Usman were surprised they went to a male strip club and they called Jeniffer “hot” as soon as she left the table.

The men and women took separate buses to the speed dating event, where Rob was caught off guard when he learned that Elise casually mentioned to the group, she had previously visited the resort with an ex — and that it was the first time she tried anal sex. The oversharing instantly turned him off.

Once the groups arrived, they learned they would be speed dating “with a twist.”

“We want you to lower your guards and build some of those connections while in a hot tub,” the dating coaches announce. While one-half of the group started speed dating, the other half began drinking, where Elise revealed she had been proposed to five times and engaged twice.
