Remi Bader Embraces Body Positivity with Candid Weight Loss Photos

Remi Bader opens up about her transformative weight loss journey spanning two years.

“I’ve never shared a before-and-after photo until now,” Bader, 31, shared on Instagram this past Monday, June 22. She returned to the very location at Equinox where these snapshots were originally taken 2.5 years ago, showing her weight loss in the very same mirror.

“For the longest time, I avoided old photos because they reminded me of a period when I struggled both mentally and physically,” the TikTok sensation explained. “However, after focusing on my internal growth, I felt ready to revisit that phase.” In the initial photo, Bader was dressed in a black tank top and leggings with her hair tied up. The following image depicts her in a brown sports bra with a deep mesh neckline and stylish cutout leggings.

Bader emphasized, “This isn’t about comparing or criticizing. It’s about recognizing how much progress I’ve made while acknowledging areas I still want to improve.”

Despite undergoing weight loss surgery, Remi Bader still grapples with insecurities. “It feels uncomfortable. I’ve never been this size or looked this way before,” Bader, 30, confessed in a new interview with Self, published on Wednesday, March 26. “So when people comment things like ‘Tiny, skinny. Oh my God, your legs,’ […]”

Bader went on to write that she spent “way more time focusing on what’s gone wrong than what has gone right, especially since Jan 2024.”

“Standing in the same place reminded me that there have been a lot of wins too,” Bader, who has been candid about her weight loss surgery, added. “Growth isn’t always obvious when you’re living it, but sometimes looking back helps you finally see it 🤍.”

In December 2023, Bader got a single anastomosis duodenal-ileal bypass with sleeve gastrectomy (SADI-S) surgery, which connects the stomach to the lower small intestine to ensure less time for the body to absorb fat and calories, per the Mayo Clinic.

Bader told Self in March 2024 that the recovery was “brutal” and recalled “projectile vomiting” and not being able to “drink water” for six weeks.

“I’m still uncomfortable. I’ve never looked like this. I’ve never felt this way. I’ve never been this size,” she shared. So when people comment now, ‘Tiny, skinny. Oh my God, your legs, your arms, this, this,’ that’s really triggering for me.”
