Garcelle Beauvais recently clarified her departure from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills during an appearance on a popular morning show. She discussed whether financial considerations influenced her decision to leave and shared her thoughts on the experience.

While addressing persistent questions about her time with Bravo, Garcelle, aged 58, shifted focus to her current endeavors, such as Lifetime’s project, Taken at a Truck Stop: A Black Girl Missing Movie. She also touched on her relationship with Sutton Stracke, 54, reflected on why she chose to unfollow the cast, and criticized Erika Jayne, 54, and Bozoma “Boz” Saint John for what she described as “mean girl” behavior.

In an interview with The Breakfast Club, which was posted on their Instagram on October 22, Garcelle was asked if she missed her role on RHOBH. To this, she succinctly replied, “No,” and confirmed her decision not to return to the show “anytime soon.”

She elaborated, “The experience was beneficial in attracting a new audience and brought about some wonderful opportunities, but I felt it was time to move on.”

“It was great in terms of like, I got a new audience and there were really wonderful things that happened because of the show, but I think my time was up,” she reasoned.

Then, when questioned about whether money or contracts were an issue, Garcelle again said, “No.”

“It was nothing like that. I just couldn’t do it anymore. It was really hurting my spirit … I couldn’t physically, spiritually, mentally, do it anymore,” she shared.

“I’ve been really great about choosing me when I’m faced with something. I’ve done it with relationships. I’ve done it in other places where I’ve felt like, ‘If I don’t choose me, it will probably not work out for me.’ So I have faith, and I just knew it was time,” she added.

As for what Sutton would do without her, Garcelle replied, “Girl, I don’t know. That’s on her.”

While there was a lot of controversy surrounding her decision to unfollow the RHOBH cast after her exit, Garcelle explained that it came down to needing space from her former co-stars.

“I just needed space. I follow people who I want to see what they’re doing, and I want to support, and if you’re out of my life, I don’t see why I need to follow you,” she explained.

Looking back at the reaction Erika and Boz, 48, had to her series departure on Watch What Happens Live, which saw the ladies pausing before Erika suggested it was a divine act, Garcelle said they were “mean girls.”

Still, when it was mentioned that she and Boz were seemingly pitted up against one another on the show, Garcelle said she didn’t know why.

“I met with Boz prior to her coming onto the show for lunch. We got along great,” she recalled.

Then, when the hosts asked additional questions about the lack of support she got from her castmates, Garcelle took control of the interview.

“I really don’t want to go back there, honestly. I’m here for my movie. I’m selling shows. I just would like to stay on a positive note,” she declared.
