A leaked voicemail from Kelly Dodd, formerly of “Real Housewives of Orange County,” directed at her daughter, Jolie Dodd, has caused a significant stir, bringing a wave of criticism towards the reality star. In light of the controversy, Kelly has spoken out, and Jeff Lewis has provided additional context to the situation.

The voicemail, which surfaced in November 2025, features Kelly using harsh and derogatory language towards Jolie, calling her “stupid” and “a dumb little girl.” The nature of the message has been labeled by many as threatening and emotionally abusive, adding fuel to the already strained relationship between the mother and daughter.

In response to the backlash, Kelly took to social media, sharing a post by Bravo Wood X. The post strongly defended Kelly, stating, “This whole Kelly Dodd voicemail thing is such a fu***** joke. Oh, please, give me a fu***** break. You clearly don’t have a teenage daughter if you feel bad for Jolie here.”

The post further claimed, “Let alone a spoiled and entitled fu***** brat that uses whichever parent benefits her at the moment. She sure isn’t complaining about that fully luxurious, furnished apartment in Paris and tuition by mommy. So, who’s the one who ended up putting things out in the public?”

From there, the post stated that Kelly’s daughter needs a “reality check” and that she used for “fifteen years and then blocks her.”

Kelly then shared a second post. It read, “All family fights and make up, no one is spared. I have seen Kelly, and her love for her daughter is so very real.” The post went on to say people shouldn’t judge, as Kelly and Jolie’s issues are between them.

The former RHOC star also posted a video. She said in it, “Everybody wants me to talk about what is going on.” She then said, “And I’m going to, and when I do, you guys are going to die when you hear the whole story.” She then said she couldn’t talk about it “right now.” Kelly also said she was going to “reveal everything.” 

Kelly captioned the post, “There’s a lot of BS circulating in the media about me, and I wish I could address it all, but I can’t now… but I will soon, and the truth will knock your socks off. Just remember, when you hear others popping off, spreading false information, and damaging innuendo against me, consider the source and their agenda. Love you guys and really appreciate all the support and understanding you’re sending my way.”

Jeff also recently came to her defense while on Jeff Lewis Live. He said, “Look, I don’t condone the message. If I were right there sitting next to her, I would have pulled that phone from her because she obviously responded from a place of hurt.”

Jeff then said, “My personal take on it, it reminds me of the Tamra Simon situation, where I believe there’s some parental alienation going on from the father. And from what I understand, there was not very much of a close relationship until recently, and I do think that a lot of this is being driven by the father, which is sad.”

He continued, “But what caused all of this was there was a fight that I felt Jolie was incredibly disrespectful to her mother, and actually threw car keys at her face, and I just don’t know how I would respond to that. Probably not well.”
