Alexis Bellino is clapping back at Shannon Beador‘s suggestion that the $60,000 she paid John Janssen to settle his facelift lawsuit against her is helping fund their upcoming wedding.
As she also weighed in on Shannon’s treatment of Katie Ginella, 41, Shannon’s many storm-offs on The Real Housewives of Orange County, and being mentioned on the show, Alexis, 48, revealed if she misses filming and opened up about the planning of her and John’s nuptials.
“Considering [Shannon] owed us $75,000 and we had to pay attorneys $25,000 or $30,000, we only got … we gave her a discount at $60,000,” Alexis said of Shannon’s settlement on the July 18 episode of Reality With the King. “So we made about $30,000 out of it, or $30,000 of it back.”
According to Alexis, the money was helping either with the invitation cost of her and John’s wedding or the recent family vacation they took.
“But here’s the funny part of why this is all so comical to me,” she continued, “so the person who couldn’t afford her facelift or her bills and needed money from her ex-boyfriend, my future husband, is now saying, acting like she’s some God because she paid us back the money she freaking owed him. How is that lost on anyone?”
Alexis then signaled Shannon’s claim that John never paid for anything, and that she paid for everything.
“How does the person that paid for everything need $75,000 from my future husband? How?” she wondered.
While Shannon made the decision to settle with John after months of legal back and forth, Alexis said she only did so because she knew that if the case went to trial, she would have lost and likely owed even more.
“He had the money sitting there. He gave her the money. She promised to pay it back. We had the emails to prove it. So she had to pay it back. And don’t think for one second if she didn’t know she was gonna lose in court,” she stated.
Moving on to Shannon taking a liking to Katie on a recent episode, Alexis was asked if she felt her former co-star was being genuine or using Katie to prove that you shouldn’t gang up on one woman.
“I think the latter. I don’t think it was genuine, but at the same time, I do agree with her,” Alexis reasoned. “I don’t think anyone should sit at a table and harp on one person. If you wanna have a one-on-one conversation with that person and tell them what they’re doing wrong or how they’ve hurt you, that’s different than six women and five of them all being on Katie. I’ve been in that place myself on housewives, and I don’t like to partake in it, and I don’t like when it happens to anybody. I don’t care if they’re right or wrong … It’s not okay.“
“Let’s be adults and pull them aside or make a phone call to them,” she advised. “I don’t agree with the ganging up on thing, but I don’t think Shannon was genuine about it. I think it was more of, ‘Let’s not gang up on anyone.’ We know they’re not very close friends.”
Also speaking of Shannon, Alexis criticised her for her inability to face issues head-on.
“It happens every single season, and the girls are sick of it … They just like roll their eyes now … When you sign your contract, you know that’s what you’re getting yourself into. That’s what the show’s about, is conflict and resolution, and if you have to get up every time and say, ‘I’m done, I’m leaving,’ it means you can’t really hold your own,” she stated. “You can’t sit there and take it, and you also can’t dish it back out.”
Throughout the first couple of episodes of RHOC, Alexis has been mentioned on a number of occasions. And understandably, it’s been frustrating to her since she’s not there to defend herself.
“I’m the least paid housewife on the books, just like John’s appendage last year,” she laughed. “It does stink to not be able to have a voice when your name is being mentioned every single episode so far, and obviously, next week it’s gonna be mentioned again, and I have a feeling it’s not gonna dwindle down that much.”
“But what do I do?” she asked. “There’s not much I can do. I just stay true to myself. And I am a very convicted person. I will defend what I believe is right, and I will stick up for myself to a fault like I did last year, but I’m not gonna change who I am.”
Although her voice on the show is gone, Alexis said she didn’t miss being on RHOC.
“Honestly, I don’t. Watching it … Do you feel like the show’s just missing fun? I feel like it’s turning into so much of all this drama and pettiness. It’s like, where’s the fun? So no, I don’t really miss the filming right now,” she explained.
Also on the podcast, Alexis said that wedding planning is “going good.”
“It’s right around the corner .. I’m not letting anyone know if it’s two days or a month or two or three months … [But] it’s good and I’m a lot less stressed this time doing it because I feel like, been there, done that. So you know all the ropes, and we have a good wedding planning team with us,” she shared.
The Real Housewives of Orange County season 19 airs Thursdays at 9/8c on Bravo.
