Gretchen Rossi clapped back at Teddi Mellencamp for accusing her of telling Katie Ginella about the ‘roofie’ allegations and changing her story. Gretchen then called out Katie for lying – as fans reacted.
In 2008, Tamra allegedly tried to get Gretchen “naked wasted” on a dinner scene for the Real Housewives of Orange County. The scene was unsettling to many fans. In the new season, Tamra claimed that Katie told podcaster Kiki Monique that Gretchen told her Tamra had roofied her that night. Katie initially denied saying this, but then seemed to change her story. Gretchen maintains that she never made the allegation.
On August 27, Gretchen reacted to a clip of Teddi (Tamra’s friend and co-host) suggesting on their podcast that Gretchen indeed told Katie that she was ‘roofied’ – but changed her story.
“Not true, I never told Katie that,” wrote Gretchen in the comments of the clip, via @bravosnarkside on Instagram. “The only person who is changing their story is Katie.”
“[Katie] claimed she never told Kiki this fake story, and then I find out she actually did,” she added. “Watch this week’s episode 👍🏻 the lie detector test says a lot.”
Fans then shared their reactions.
“It doesn’t matter [if Gretchen told Katie this] because it wasn’t Katie’s story to tell, let alone to tell a podcaster that information she was allegedly told in confidence by someone she was just getting to know,” wrote @bravosnarkside. “If it had taken place it would have been a crime, and again that’s not tawdry gossip to be shared willy nilly with podcasters. Personally, I don’t believe it was said because I don’t see Jenn lying for Gretchen.”
“I think Gretchen probably said, ‘it was like she roofied me’ or similar,” said another fan. “I think Katie took it literally and ran to the blogger with it.”
A third user added, “Here’s the thing … what Tamra did the night of ‘naked wasted’ was really dangerous and could have ended really badly for Gretchen. I don’t understand why none of these women want to address that part of it. I’m sure they have all watched the episode, and the whole thing is not good … they are all missing the point.”
