Former Housewife, Nicole Martin, has dropped a bomb on the world of The Real Housewives of Miami after sharing the real reason she left the reality TV series after three seasons. Nicole quickly became a beloved Housewife because of her vulnerability towards the Housewives and the audience. Her dedication to her profession as an anesthesiologist is another large part that separates her from other Housewives. Unfortunately, she stepped away after Season 6.

Many assumed Nicole’s decision to leave the series was because she had just had her second child and needed a break from filming. However, the former Housewife sat down on her podcast, Scrubs to Stilettos, to share the real, dark reason she stepped away from Bravo.

Dr. Nicole Martin Accused A Cast Member Of Hiring A Private Investigator

On a July 3, 2025, episode of Nicole Martin’s podcast, Scrubs to Stilettos, the former Housewife of Miami shared the real reason she left RHOM so abruptly: A “friend” of the group allegedly hired a private investigator to find dirt on Nicole for the series.

Now, hiring professionals or old friends to find skeletons in a nemesis’s closet while on The Real Housewives is nothing new for the series. However, considering how close Nicole was to postpartum after her second child, the pettiness was too much, too soon.

“One of my cast mates confessed to me that the other cast mate had told her that she had hired a private investigator because she wanted to move from a friend role to a full-time role [on the RHOM], Martin shared on her podcast, via Parade. “And she felt like if she had this secret, and she could like, drop this bomb that that would be like the thing she needed to like, level up her friends down.”

Nicole told her co-host that the alleged information made her feel “unsafe.” “I started being, like, feeling unsafe filming in the sense—not physical violence—but like they were really trying to hurt me and my family,” she explained. “And, like, once I’ve had postpartum anxiety plus the baseline anxiety, I was like, ‘No, this is going to lead me to have a mental breakdown. I can’t do this.’”

She was also quick to mention that the person hired was not “a very good private investigator” after he was hired to follow around her and her husband, Anthony Lopez.

Fans Were Quick To Guess Which Housewife Allegedly Hired The PI

There were only three women in the ‘friend’ role on RHOM during Nicole’s time on the series, and the only plausible option who had the means to do something so sinister for her personal gain was, theoretically, Marysol Patton.

Nicole and Marysol feuded during her time on the series. During a 2024 panel, Marysol said that nobody missed Nicole once filming started without her.

One of the last blowup arguments Nicole and Marysol had was when Nicole invited former Housewife, Ana Quincoces, to her Mother’s Day event. Marysol claimed Nicole only invited Ana because of her rift with Alexia Nepola, something Nicole allegedly had no idea of.

Marysol and Nicole had beef as soon as Nicole joined the series, furthering the notion that their disdain for each other leaked into Nicole’s decision to leave the series.

While Nicole’s comments were all alleged, she is still friendly with Kiki and Audriana, according to various social media photos and comments.

What Is Dr. Nicole Martin Doing Now?

After three seasons, Nicole Martin opted to leave the series after the birth of her second child. In September 2024, Nicole shared on social media that she had decided to leave the reality TV show on her own terms.

Nicole shared that she experienced postpartum anxiety, and she was learning how to navigate the feelings she was having. Doing this meant stepping away from Bravo.

Since leaving the series, Nicole has been booked and busy.

• Nicole created a podcast with fellow doctor and former Housewife, Tiffany Moon, called Scrubs to Stelletos.
• She has an award-winning skincare line called Exo Ceuticals.
• Nicole still works full-time as an anesthesiologist in Miami while being a mother to Greyson and Genevieve.

Luckily for RHOM fans, Nicole makes guest appearances in Season 7. According to Entertainment Now! Nicole isn’t ruling out returning to the series as a main Housewife in the future. “I say never say never,” she shared. “When I had Genevieve, I had postpartum anxiety, and I already explained how filming was anxiety-provoking for me as it is. Now that Genevieve is bigger, would I consider coming back? I would.”

While Nicole is focusing on other things outside of RHOM, she’s not opposed to starring on other reality TV shows. “I think Traitors or something like a mental-challenge game, that would be super fun because I like the mental aspect of it,” she explained. “I like the challenge part of it. I would always do a cooking show. I love to cook. I love to be in the kitchen. I was a former cheerleader [so] I would do Dancing with the Stars. There’s reality TV that I would definitely do.”

Time will tell for future shows for Nicole. For now, fans are happy to catch a few glimpses of her in Season 7 despite her issues with the aforementioned friend of the series who hired the PI.
