Bethenny Frankel, a star of the Real Housewives of New York City, recently shared her thoughts on the wedding of Lauren Sanchez and Jeff Bezos in Italy. The billionaire couple celebrated their union with a lavish $20 million ceremony on Friday, which was attended by numerous A-list celebrities and social media influencers from around the globe. Prior to her marriage to Bezos, Sanchez, 55, was divorced, and their wedding has been compared to that of the royal union of Prince Harry, 40, and Meghan Markle, 43,. The Suits actress was previously married to Trevor Engleson from 2011 – 2014 before finding love with the Duke of Sussex in 2016. Despite these similarities, Frankel, 54, pointed out a notable distinction between the two women: the different ways they are able to access financial resources from their wealthy spouses.

Speaking in a video on her TikTok channel, Frankel shared: “They both became famous when they came together. He was a dork before he met Lauren. He had money, but Lauren was like, ‘Honey, I’ll show you how to spend that money’. She bagged the elephant; she is the Meghan Markle with no rules.

She added: “I have been saying this from the beginning. Meghan Markle joined the Royal Family and had to play by the rules. This one…he makes the rules. When you are Jeff Bezos, you make the rules. So she doesn’t have to play by any rules. He is living his best life.

“Now they both are famous, and they both have these famous friends. They are basking in it and loving it. People criticise it, but to each their own.”

“Frankel also remarked on how similar Sanchez was to Markle in that she had a “career that was not relevant on a global scale” before tying the knot.

The reality star continued: “They had paychecks coming in, but they bloomed later in other ways. They bloomed because of a relationship. Not because of their core career, but the relationship popped off and created a career. So it goes to show that it is never too late to have your chapter.”

It comes as Bezos and Sanchez waved goodbye to their hotel in Venice on Sunday after a three-day wedding extravaganza, before heading off on their honeymoon.

The celebrations were held two years after Bezos proposed to Sanchez aboard his $500million superyacht. The wedding was described as “extremely intimate” with a strict no-phone policy, with around 70 of the 200 guests being family members.

Sanchez revealed to Vogue that her wedding dress was inspired by the high-necked lace wedding dress Sophia Loren wore to marry Cary Grant in the 1958 film Houseboat.
