Angel Massie has recently brought to light an old direct message allegedly sent by Dr. Wendy Osefo, despite Wendy’s claims of not knowing Angel. Angel also leveled accusations against Ashley Darby, suggesting that Ashley attempted to portray her husband, Bobby, as an “aggressive Black man” through what she termed as “dog-whistling.” Furthermore, Angel elaborated on the circumstances surrounding her eviction and the accusations of theft.

This season on the popular series Real Housewives of Potomac, viewers saw Angel transition from her rental property to a new life in Colorado. During the show, Wendy seemed to insinuate that Angel had financial constraints, suggesting she could only afford $1,000 a month for her rental home. Adding to the drama, some cast members hinted that Angel faced eviction. In one particular scene, Angel’s tardiness to a ‘Potomac and Ponies’ event was addressed when her husband Bobby remarked that they would arrive on their own time, prompting Ashley to hint that Bobby had a “temper.”
During an appearance on Virtual Reali-Tea, Angel offered further insight into her history with Wendy. “At the start of the season, Wendy claimed she didn’t know me,” Angel explained. “However, back in 2015, following my mother’s passing, Wendy reached out to me via DM to discuss the loss of her stepfather, highlighting the shared experience we both had. So, does she know me or not? I’m not offended either way, but let’s be honest about it.”
On Virtual Reali-Tea, Angel shared insight into her past with Wendy.
“I know that at the top of the season, she said, ‘No, I don’t know her.’ But back in 2015, when my mom passed away, she was DMing me about her father, her stepfather passing away, and how we had those commonalities,” Angel recalled. “So, do you know me or do you not know me? I don’t feel offended by either. Let’s just tell the truth.”
Angel was later asked why her co-star pretended not to know her.
“I think that sometimes women who are narcissistic think that saying they don’t know someone gives them some type of hierarchical power,” she explained. “It’s just a way to punch down, but it’s not going to work for me … ‘I don’t know her, I don’t know her.’ But, you know, she does.”
According to Angel, she was “taken aback” because they bonded through their grief. “But you know, I guess that behavior wasn’t real either,” she said.
On The Way Up with Angela Yee, Angel called out Ashley’s comment about Bobby.
“[Bobby] was like, ‘We’ll get there when we get there.’ And I stand on that, and he should have said that, and they deserved it. They should’ve heard it,” she said, via @thebravoshaderoom on Instagram. “And then code-switching Ashley is trying to dog-whistle him [as] an aggressive Black man, and I didn’t appreciate that. She doesn’t know him from Adam. It’s very nasty.”
She then explained the drama with her short-term rental property.
“When it came to that short-term rental rate, which is on Airbnb … you can check out the price: $14,500 a month,” she said. “Not $1,000 a month … What happened is basically we were going to move into a bigger spot for the time being on July 11th. But the person who owned the home thought it was July 1st. So I get this message from them saying, ‘You’ve been great. Like, you know, here’s what you need to do before you go.’ And I’m like, ‘Wait a second. This is not the right time.’ And they’re like, ‘Oh my gosh, we’re so sorry. But we had already rented it out.’”
Angel said producers asked to film her packing up, so Tia Glover came over to “show what’s happening.”
“And then Tia proceeds to leave and call Gizelle and tell her her version of what happened,” said Angel. “I didn’t appreciate that. But me and Tia have already talked about it, and she said that it wasn’t meant in any mean spirit. But Gizelle is a mean-spirited person, and so she turned it into something that it wasn’t.”
Later on, Angel addressed the claim that she stole money from her husband when they were dating.
“I would love you to clear that up,” said Angel. “Number one, Ashley is lying. She knows nothing of the situation … Me and Bobby had only been dating for like four or five months. I had gotten to know this other girl whose boyfriend at the time played on [Bobby’s] team. We’re getting to know each other … [One time Bobby said], ‘Here, take my card. I’m going to treat you guys to lunch or dinner’ … the women at the same time. And so I’m there at the dinner, and I tell this girl, you know what, Bobby is used to giving so much to people and not having anything in return. [So] I bought him a trip to Jamaica myself.”
But Angel said the woman twisted the story to be the “complete opposite” — a false narrative that Angel stole money out of his account to pay for the trip. Angel added, however, that the woman apologized after Angel confronted her about it.
