Comedy genius Ricky Gervais has issued a concerning health update as he warned his followers they need to get used to him looking more decrepit as he grows older. The Afterlife star has admitted that when he walks, it hurts, and things are only going to “get worse.”

The 63-year-old Office star revealed in a chat with ABC News in America: “My health is getting worse and worse. This is as good as it’ll ever be [health-wise]. It’s not like I will get better. Do you know what I mean? They won’t go, ‘Oh, he is 70 now. Oh, he was terrible at 60.’

“But this is it. I’m reminded every day that I’m getting older. Everything is sort of just slower and aches more. When I walk downstairs, it’s like I’ve got false legs like pirate legs – I’m just stiff. It all just hurts. And I just fall about over the day and then start again the next day.”

He later joked: “Honestly, our drugs cabinet is amazing. I have got a bunion, and I’ve got a little spongy thing I have to put on my toe. If I walk too far, it starts to hurt, but I’ll just carry them.

“I’ll just carry on until I just die. Sometimes I even Google cancer, so I get there straight away (with my self-diagnosis). It is like I can’t wait.”

In recent news, Ricky announced the first set of highly anticipated London dates for his brand-new stand-up show ‘MORTALITY’. He will play the Wembley OVO Arena on Friday, 31st October 2025, as well as six nights at the London Palladium in October 2025.

Fresh from his most recent stand-up special, ‘Armageddon, ‘ which was nominated for a Grammy award, won a Golden Globe, hit Number 1 on Netflix, and claimed the world record for the highest-grossing comedy gig of all time, ‘Mortality’ will once again be filmed for Netflix.

Speaking about the comedy tour, Gervais said: “We’re all gonna die. May as well have a laugh about it. Mortality looks at the absurdities of life. And death. Bring it on.”

More worldwide and UK arena dates will be announced in due course, set to take place throughout 2025 as Gervais tours the globe.
