Bravo recently premiered its newest show, Next Gen NYC, and one of the stars is Riley Burruss. In it, she appears alongside several other children of famous parents as they navigate life in New York City. Now, she’s opening up about following in the footsteps of her mother, her cast, and much more in a new interview.

Regarding the show, it also stars the likes of Ariana Beirmann, Gia Giudice, and Brooks Marks. Housewives stars such as Kim Zolciak, Meredith Marks, and Teresa Guidice will also make scattered appearances.

Recently, Riley sat down for an interview with Decider to discuss the new show. One of the first questions centered around how she feels about following in Kandi Burruss‘ footsteps by entering the world of reality television. She said, “ It feels really nice. I never thought that I would, honestly. But she just told me to be honest and true to myself, and just to not care about the comments when it comes out. As long as you’re true to yourself, it doesn’t matter.”

As fans will recall from the trailer, there’s a much-talked-about part from the show where Riley and some of the other cast have racked up a $14,000 bill at a restaurant. When asked for context, the Next Gen NYC star revealed, “We were ordering 1942. I don’t usually do that, but I guess it was a special night. And I guess you guys kind of see a little bit of a teaser on their reactions.”

From there, they begin discussing her castmates in a bit more detail. Notably, the interviewer asks who she has grown closest to from the group. She responds, “I was already close to Brooks before, so it was easy to continue that relationship. I hadn’t seen Ariana in over 10 years, so that was a relationship that really evolved the most. And I say, like, probably Gia is most like her mom. ”

She continued with the Gia comment, saying, “I don’t really know her mom that well, but I just feel like from what I’ve seen, I feel they’re both very outspoken. ”

Notably, this comes after Gia revealed that Riley had become upset over her comparing The Real Housewives of New Jersey to The Real Housewives of Atlanta. More recently, Gia spoke on their issues and said she didn’t know how to please Riley. Riley was then asked about Ava Dash and whether they bonded over the fact that they both came from music families. According to Riley, “Yeah, both of our parents knew each other because they both kind of came up in the music industry around the same time. So, yeah, we definitely bonded over that.”

The topic of the fallout between Kandi and Kim then arose, and the host inquired about the possibility of them reuniting. Riley explained, “I mean, me and Ariana definitely want our parents to reunite because, of course, we’re friends, so I think that’s definitely in the cards.” Notably, both Riley and Ariana appeared on episodes of RHOA as kids.

From there, they discuss Ariana revealing that her parents took money from her brand deals. Riley reacted to this by saying, “I didn’t know much about this before I met up with Ariana at the time, so I was, of course, surprised, and I really feel for her. I think that’s a very hard thing to do, and I respect her honesty and transparency.”

Regarding whether Next Gen NYC has a villain or not, Riley stated, “I don’t know if we have a villain. I think everyone kind of does their part, but I definitely think Charlie has his moments.”

The topic of Georgia McCann revealing that she doesn’t wash her hands has been a hot topic on social media. When asked if she was surprised by Georgia being caught off guard by her reaction to this news, Riley said, “Yes. I’ve never had that kind of issue before, so I was definitely surprised that she was surprised.”

In the end, she revealed more about what’s to come from the series, saying,  “I think I have a lot of anxiety and also excitement about the entire series. There’s a lot that goes on, a lot of dynamic shifting, and a lot of surprises, I feel like. But, you know, everyone needs to tune in to see how it evolves.”

Fans can watch Next Gen NYC on Tuesday nights.
