The Kardashian family is just as public as they’ve ever been. However, this isn’t the case for Rob Kardashian as he’s hardly ever seen in public and has yet to appear on their new Hulu show. Now, he’s opening up about the reason for his reclusive nature in a new interview.
As fans are aware, Rob, 38, has one child, Dream, 8, whom he shares with Blac Chyna, 37. He also owns a business called Arthur George, which specializes in luxury socks.
Many fans assume that Rob hasn’t appeared on The Kardashians because of some sort of family drama. According to PEOPLE, he recently appeared on Khloe Kardashian‘s podcast and dispelled this long-held belief. He said, “It just has everything to do with myself.”
Rob continued, “There’s definitely nothing wrong between any of us.” He then admitted that he doesn’t “wanna be filming and putting myself in a position where I’m not comfortable.” From there, he stated that his decision to limit public and filmed appearances has to do with his issues with body image.
“Like, I’m not comfortable in my skin, so why would I wanna go be on camera and just be vulnerable and let people in? That’s not what I wanna do,” Rob explained. “I’m not gonna just put myself out there if I’m not comfortable with myself. I haven’t been comfortable with myself in years.”
He added, “Filming and doing all that, it’s not for everybody. And I choose my own happiness and peace [over] just filming for somebody who doesn’t do anything for me in my personal life.” The discussion continued, and Khloe asked Rob if he had closed the door on filming in the future.
According to him, “No, of course. I mean, I love filming if it’s positive and if it’s natural, and I’m feeling good about myself. Then, of course, I’m comfortable. I like being around my family, so that stuff is good to me. Obviously, I have nothing against it. The reason I don’t is because I’m a homebody and I just choose, like I said, my peace and happiness.”
