Sister Wives star Robyn Brown admitted she was having an “identity crisis” after her husband, Kody Brown, asked if she would “accept” him as a monogamist.

“Will you accept me as a monogamist?” Kody, 55, asked Robyn, 46, in a teaser clip for the Sunday, January 5, episode shared by Us Weekly. “Is there a problem with that?”

Robyn then became emotional as she said she was “always going to stick” with Kody, though added, “I’m just having an identity crisis.”

“Yes, I’ll always stick with him and I love him,” Robyn continued in a confessional. “This is not what I wanted for my life.”

Back during her conversation with Kody, Robyn admitted she felt “stuck.” However, Kody assured her that he was “done” when it came to his past marriages with ex-wives Christine Brown, Janelle Brown and Meri Brown.

“I’m not gonna fix it with Meri. I’m not gonna try and fix it with Janelle anymore,” Kody told Robyn. “She’s done with me.”

The clip concluded with Robyn asking Kody if Janelle, 55, had really said that she was “done” with their marriage, and he confirmed that she did.

Christine, 52, was the first of Kody’s wives to end their spiritual marriage when she left him in November 2021. More than one year later, Janelle confirmed their split in December 2022 and Meri and Kody issued a statement revealing their separation in January 2023.

While fans always viewed Robyn as Kody’s favorite wife when their plural family was still intact, many wondered if their relationship would survive following his spiritual divorces. After all, she had always been open about wanting to be part of a polygamous family.

“If I wanted to live monogamy, I could have [sic],” she said during a 2022 episode. “I mean, it’s not like I had no other choices. I could have had a very happy, successful relationship with some other men. It’s just the truth, I’m sorry! I hate saying it because it sounds like I’m, like, bragging or something, but I’m not. It’s just, this is the truth.”

In November 2024, an insider exclusively told In Touch that “Robyn has Kody wrapped around her finger” and he’s “terrified” that she will leave him.

In light of his fears, the source explained that Kody was taking every opportunity possible to make Robyn happy in their marriage. “She has nannies to help take care of the younger kids, a cook, housekeepers to keep the house clean so she doesn’t break a nail, carte blanche to spend whatever she wants when in the shops,” the insider said.

Not only does Kody make sure that Robyn is catered to, but the special treatment “extends to their kids, too.”

“Three of their kids [Kody’s stepkids, Dayton, 24, Aurora, 21, Breanna, 18] are adults now but they still live at home with them and why would they leave? They have it made. Their bio kids [Solomon, 13, and Ariella, 8] are spoiled in ways Kody’s other kids with his exes don’t get to appreciate,” the source explained.

The insider said that Kody “goes out of his way to make Robyn feel like a princess,” adding, “His polygamist dream imploded and he’s desperate to hold onto this marriage even if it costs him.”
