Music legend Rod Stewart and his wife Penny Lancaster have taken a significant leap forward in their philanthropic endeavours. The power couple has been unveiled as the latest high-profile ambassadors for The King’s Foundation, joining the ranks of celebrities like David Beckham and Sienna Miller.

This announcement comes hot on the heels of Rod’s 80th birthday celebrations. They are set to visit the charity’s Scottish headquarters this week.

Sir Rod, a long-time supporter of the charity, expressed his enthusiasm: “We are so pleased to be coming on board as ambassadors for The King’s Foundation and look forward to lending our support to this worthwhile cause, particularly during such a significant year for the charity.”

He reminisced about attending the foundation’s inaugural awards at St James’s Palace with King Charles. Penny Lancaster, who also serves as a volunteer special constable, shared her personal connection to the cause: “As a volunteer special constable, the Foundation’s approach to building communities – and how access to green spaces can help build better, healthier places – is particularly important to me.”

She continued, “It’s an honour to be working with the Foundation and I can’t wait to meet more of the inspiring people who both learn with and work for the organisation.” The dynamic duo is scheduled to visit Dumfries House in Ayrshire, where they will engage with staff at the Health and Wellbeing Centre located on the estate. There, they will learn about the innovative perimenopause programmes offered, reports The Mirror. 

Rod and Penny are currently in the middle of a jubilant spree of festivities to commemorate the music icon’s 80th birthday. The lavish celebrations have been underway with the family aboard a luxurious three-tiered super yacht, which recently docked in St Barts on Tuesday morning.

The vessel is said to be provisioned with three chefs ensuring all their needs are catered for. Present to honour the milestone were Rod’s sons Aiden Patrick, 13, and Alastair, 19, alongside his daughter, Kimberly Stewart, 45.

Adding to the occasion, Rod took to social media expressing his heartfelt appreciation for fans worldwide: “May I take this opportunity on this my 80th birthday to personally express my gratitude and thanks to all my loyal and rowdy fans all over the world for helping give me such a wonderful life. In return I hope I’ve given you some memorable songs and lively concerts and…I’ve not finished yet.”

Penny enthralled followers with a snapshot of Rod in high spirits aboard their opulent yacht holiday, captioning it: “Happy birthday my darling. So blessed to be sharing this day with all our kids. Building more memories to carry to our hearts forever. I love you.”

This heartwarming family getaway follows Rod’s lavish gesture of flying everyone first class to Florida and ensuring they wouldn’t spend a dime throughout the festivities. True to his passion for sports, Rod was also caught on camera rooting for his treasured Celtic on a laptop while at sea, proving that not even serene ocean views can come between the star and his football club.
