At 45, Sean Stewart, son of the legendary Rod Stewart, faced a daunting challenge as he entered the boxing ring for the first time. He participated in a Misfits boxing event against Brendon Davis, better known as BDave, who is 18 years his junior.
As the third of Rod Stewart’s eight children, Sean experienced a harsh introduction to the sport when he suffered a record-setting knockout. During the match, Sean was caught off guard by a punch that landed directly on his jaw, and a subsequent hit sent him sprawling onto the mat. The referee had no choice but to halt the fight, leaving Sean embarrassed by the outcome.
Rod Stewart, occupied with a performance in London, was unable to witness his son’s debut in person. However, Sean’s lineage was frequently highlighted by the announcers, who repeatedly referred to him as “Rod Stewart’s son” throughout the event.
Earlier this year, Sean sought help by entering a rehabilitation program in Malibu, aiming to address persistent issues from his past. He has struggled with ADHD and dyslexia since childhood, conditions that have significantly impacted his life.
Reflecting on his journey, Sean shared, “I am here to tackle the pain from my childhood, which arose from dealing with ADHD and the constant feeling of inadequacy. I am currently in therapy, working through these challenges.”
Sean “voluntarily checked in” to the facility, with one source telling The Mirror: “Rod is proud of him for getting help. He is expected to do a 90 day stay, which is the norm.”
Sean split from his wife Jody Weintraub last year and began dating Julia Stambler, with one source claiming to People Magazine: “It just wasn’t working with Jody. They tried but are in the process of divorcing and haven’t really been together for months.”
