Rupert Murdoch, 92, has announced that he is getting married for the fifth time to former police chaplain Ann Lesley Smith, 66. The pair met in September at his California vineyard and two weeks later he “called her”.
This marriage will be Rupert’s fifth and comes less than one year after his divorce from former model Jerry Hall, 66.
Speaking to the New York Post, the media mogul gushed: “I was very nervous. I dreaded falling in love.
“But I knew this would be my last. It better be. I’m happy.”
Ann, who was previously married to late country singer Chester Smith, added: “For us both it’s a gift from God. I’m a widow 14 years.

“Like Rupert, my husband was a businessman. Worked for local papers, developed radio and TV stations and helped promote Univision. So I speak Rupert’s language. We share the same beliefs.
“In perspective, it’s not my first rodeo. Getting near 70 means being in the last half. I waited for the right time. Friends are happy for me.”
Rupert told the publication that they are “looking forward to spending the second half of our lives together” and that they will split their time between California, Montana, New York and the UK.
Rupert has six children from his previous marriages. His eldest is daughter Prudence MacLeod, 64, with his first wife Patricia Booker who he was married to from 1956 until 1967.
In 1967, he wed Anna Mann. They share daughter Elisabeth, 53, and sons Lachlan, 50, and James, 49.
Rupert and Anna divorced in 1999 and he married his third wife, Wendi Deng, in the same year.
During their 14 years together they had two daughters: Grace, 21, and Chloe, 19.
The billionaire and his fourth wife, supermodel Jerry Hall, did not have any children together in the six years they were married.
She does share four children with her ex Mick Jagger. They are Elizabeth, 39, James, 37, Georgia May, 31, and Gabriel, 25.
Rupert and Jerry’s divorce was finalised in August. It was reported that the model filed for divorce after Rupert ended their relationship via text.
Their lawyers said at the time that the exes “remain good friends and wish each other the best for the future”.
Rupert and his new fiancée were first spotted together in January during a sun-soaked trip to Barbados.
In pictures obtained by MailOnline, the couple were spotted in their swimwear enjoying lunch on the beach.
The publication reported that Ann now works as a local radio presenter on America’s Christian Broadcasting Network.
She was married to Love, Love, Love singer Chester until his death in 2008 from heart failure.
