Russell Kane cheekily poked fun at his wife Lindsey after she managed to split her trousers open at the centre of her derriere before taking to the red carpet to meet Charles, the former Prince of Wales.
The comedian, 47, and his wife, who is a make-up artist, attended the prestigious event in 2019 but things went downhill before the pair took to the red carpet to pose for photos.
Speaking about the horrific moment to Express.co.uk, Russell revealed it was not the first time his other half had an awkward run-in with King Charles.
“The next event Lindsey went to, she split her trousers at the rear on the red carpet and the camera picked it up and beamed it into the theatre Charles was sat in,” the comic recalled.
At the time, Russell even shared a cheeky snap of his wife’s mishap.

Taking to Instagram, he penned: “Bloody hell @lindseylashexpert and Prince Charles are not destined to get along. Her trouser suit has split at the a**e just before we arrived at Prince’s Trust red carpet.
“We are now late and arguing through a toilet door while she sews her a**e. #princestrustawards.”
Luckily, Lindsey was able to correct the mishap to take photos alongside her husband on the red carpet.
The comedian, who is a patron of the Prince’s Trust, was invited to another event where the couple were able to meet the royals.
But things took a slight turn for the worse after his other half broke royal protocol.
Russell explained: “I’m a patron of the Prince’s Trust so I met Charles a few times. One of the times we were there, Lindsey accidentally grabbed him on the love handles and moved him out of the way.

“One instruction we got was don’t touch Prince Charles. We thought that’s an easy instruction – who runs up to the future monarch and grabs him.”
He continued: “Lindsey got confused and thought it was a random guy. It was him [King Charles] actually talking to someone super important like Moira Stuart or Damian Lewis, someone like that.
“Lindsay just went. ‘Sorry babe,’ grabbed him on the love handles and moved him out the way.”
Russell chuckled: “Can you believe it?”
The awkward encounter did not end there when the couple later received a letter from the Palace.
He recalled: “We got a letter the next day saying, ‘Don’t be too upset. It’s all ok. We must invite you to future events.'”
Russell, who tied the knot with his wife Lindsey in 2014, admitted his other half is a big supporter of his music venture as he aims to raise funds for the charity CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably).
It comes as the comedian is hoping to hit the music charts with his track Laundry Fight – an R&B song inspired by domestic life and partners leaving their underwear on the floor.
Russell, who is a regular co-host on Channel 4’s Steph Packed Lunch, released his first single on April 28.
“Let’s just say it’s an inspirational song for all partners male or female who don’t like seeing a towel on the floor,” he shared.
