S Club 7’s Jo O’Meara has said she struggled to ‘see the light at the end of the tunnel’ while experiencing her chronic back pain.

The English pop singer, 43, put on a glamorous display while chatting to the Loose Women panel, looking worlds apart from snaps taken late last year while in a hospital gown after a failed surgery to remove a disc from her back.

She also touched on reunion rumours which could see the seven members of the 90s hit pop band join forces once again.

Speaking on Monday afternoon, Jo said of her chronic back pain: ‘There were some days when you just don’t really see the light at the end of the tunnel.

‘Do you know what, since I’ve been going through all of this, I’ve had so many messages from so many people that are going through the same thing.’

She added that while it had been a ‘rough’ time, she has had her highlights.

‘I’m a lot better than what I was it’s been a really rough few months,’ Jo said. ‘I have good days and bad days when you think god how long is this going to go on for, you have to soldier through.

‘I was 22 when it started, I had two budging discs, they wanted to operate on it back then, but I just didn’t have the time I was so busy. Now it’s four.

‘I got up [after the op] and I just thought, “Oh” because you do this get fear, they said to me “It will be very likely that you won’t dance to full capacity again” but I’m up and I’m walking.

‘I just feel so lucky that I am able to get out there and walk the dogs, you know what, it can’t get any worse.’

Speaking about joining forces with her co-stars from S Club 7, Jo said she would love to.

‘I would love to, we are all still talking, but in reality, getting the seven of us together at the same time is very difficult. Everyone has children, all at different ages, but you never know, you never know.’

Back in November, Jo revealed she was back in hospital again – a month after ‘urgent’ surgery to have a disc removed from her back failed.

The singer took to Instagram on to share a snap of herself on a drip as she sat in A&E at 4am and she said the pain ‘was the worst it’s been yet’.

Jo had emergency surgery on her back in October to remove a disc and had to cancel gigs including Fife Pride as a result.

Just after she revealed that she was ‘devastated’ and in a ‘horrendous’ amount of pain after the operation didn’t work quite as well as expected.

And now she is back in hospital again and posted a picture of her drip with the caption: ‘When am I gonna get a break ?? I really thought I was on the road to recovery.

‘4am this morning the pain was the worst it’s been yet! So here we are again ! I am devastated.’

She added no more information as to when she might be out or news of a possible remedy.

On October 25 Jo revealed the first operation hadn’t worked.

Speaking from her bed in an Instagram video she said she has to go back for more surgery after a recent MRI and said she feels like she’s ‘in a really bad place’ at the moment.
