Shamea Morton called out Brittany “Brit” Eady‘s donation after Sunday’s episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, saying she did not give an appropriate amount.
As Porsha Williams, 43, and Phaedra Parks, 51, also shared their thoughts on the women’s feud, Shamea, 43, shaded Brit, 37, for giving only paper towel rolls and $250 as Brit defended the gift and spoke of an off-camera conversation the two of them had in regard to what would be sent to Grenada.
“I just couldn’t believe that was the donation,” Shamea began on the June 8 episode of the RHOA: After Show. “And I told her about it off camera cuz I’m that kind of friend. I wanna talk to you about it. I don’t want to embarrass you. So we went to Houston’s after she made her tiny box donation, and I told her I was like, ‘Yo, this is how you should give.’”
According to Shamea, she would not have put Brit on blast in front of the group if Brit hadn’t brought up their dispute.
“I get it. Any donation is great. I appreciate all of that … The thing that didn’t make sense for me was the fact that when she pulled up, she was like, ‘I got a truck full of stuff,’ … she [said], ‘[My husband, Michael “Mike” Cunningham] is on the way with it,’” she explained.
Looking back, Shamea recalled Brit telling her that she didn’t know if Mike would make it in time, noting that she responded to her castmate by suggesting she make a monetary donation instead.
“I always like to give how I would like to receive and that means I don’t want your old crap out of your garage,” she declared. “Things that you wouldn’t want, why would you try to gift that?”
“I expected so much more,” agreed Kelli Ferrell, 40.
Meanwhile, in her own RHOA: After Show segment, Brit looked back on a conversation she had with Shamea.
“I said, ‘Are you sure this is enough? … Because I don’t want no funny business.’ Because I genuinely wanted to make sure … I didn’t know … I asked Shamea but … we didn’t [agree on an amount] and I was the first one to support, so I didn’t know the threshold,” Brit reasoned.
And Porsha didn’t disagree, admitting that she waited to make her donation until others had shown up.
“I didn’t donate until everybody donated cuz I was like, ‘Let me see what I should [give],’” she stated.
“So you can donate the most!” Brit replied.
According to Porsha, she and Phaedra thought it was “super cringe” for Shamea to call out Brit about how much she gave to a charity.
“It was them asking [Brit] and downing [Brit] on when you gave it, how much you gave,” she shared. “I didn’t even get clear information on what to give before Grenada … It was like a day or two before … We didn’t agree on how much to give.”
As for Phaedra, she added, “At the end of the day, my thoughts [were], ‘If you don’t know the appropriate amount, how can you be blamed for it?’”
The Real Housewives of Atlanta season 16 airs Sundays at 8/7c on Bravo.
