Sharon Osbourne has broken her silence following the death of her husband Ozzy Osbourne, telling fans she is “still finding her footing” two months on from the rock legend’s passing. The 72-year-old shared a heartfelt message on Instagram on Friday, posting footage of herself alongside daughter Kelly Osbourne as the pair took part in a falconry session in the countryside. The video showed the mother and daughter interacting with owls, with Sharon seen in black clothing and a protective glove while an owl perched calmly on her hand.

It comes after Ozzy’s death in July at the age of 76, just weeks after his farewell concert with Black Sabbath. At the time, Sharon and the couple’s four children released a joint statement announcing the sad news. Addressing her followers directly in her latest post, Sharon said: “I’m still having trouble finding the words to express how grateful I am for the overwhelming love and support you’ve shown on social media.

“Your comments, posts, and tributes have brought me more comfort than you know. None of it has gone unnoticed, in fact, it’s carried me through many nights.”

She went on to reflect on her unusual new hobby, writing: “Though I’m still finding my footing, I wanted to share some glorious creatures I had the chance to spend an afternoon with.

“The connection you make with these powerful birds is built entirely on trust and confidence.”

Explaining the bond further, Sharon added: “They’ll choose to perch on you only if they sense you are safe and unafraid of them. It’s a bond I know all too well, and the experience was nothing short of magical.”

The former X Factor judge signed off her message with a declaration of thanks: “I love you all, and I thank you deeply for the otherworldly amount of love you continue to send my way.”

Kelly, 40, who has also spoken candidly about her grief in recent weeks, revealed she was the one who introduced her mother to falconry.

Just days earlier she posted her own clips of herself smiling with owls and falcons, saying: “In all my sadness & grief I have found something that truly makes me happy!

“I never thought I would find my smile again through falconry but I did. I absolutely love being with the birds!”

In another post, Kelly added: “Today I introduced my mum to falconry and she loved it! Thank you [Cornwall Falconry] for putting a smile on my mum’s face too.”

Fans praised both Sharon and Kelly for opening up about their grieving process and finding moments of light in the weeks after Ozzy’s death.
