EastEnders star Shona McGarty has finally addressed the swirling rumors of a romance with rapper Aitch, following their time in the I’m A Celebrity jungle. Recently voted off the show, she secured third place, just a day after Aitch took fourth. During an interview with ITV’s Ant and Dec, Shona reflected on her jungle experience, which included a montage of memorable moments with Aitch. When questioned about their close connection, she likened it to a sibling relationship, dismissing fan speculation about a romantic link.

These comments follow Aitch’s own assertions that their relationship is purely platonic. “I haven’t watched the show, so I’m not sure what’s been shown,” Aitch explained. “But it’s nothing like what people think.” He went on to describe their camaraderie, noting they share similar humor and backgrounds.

Aitch elaborated, saying, “With Shona aiming to kickstart her music career after the jungle, and me already having one, we naturally connected over that. It was just easier for her to talk to me and Martin Kemp about music-related topics.”

He continued, “Given the age difference, no one suggests she’d have a romance with Martin. So, I’m the next likely candidate. But romance? No, not at all.”

Speculation arose after Aitch and Shona were seen sharing several close moments, with Aitch candidly telling Angry Ginge, “I’ve got a bit of a soft spot for Shona, me.”

After the scene aired, host Dec confessed that he was shocked by the admission and said: “This came completely out of the blue this morning. It’s been a while since we’ve had a proper romance on this show. We’d love to see it… we would celebrate it.”

However, Shona and Aitch’s fellow camper, Ruby Wax, has previously said that Aitch was not Shona’s type.

She said: “He’s not her type at all. She said she likes hunky, bigger men so that she feels female, so he wasn’t on the list at all.”

The pair both entered the jungle single, as Shona broke up with her musician fiancé, David Bracken, earlier this year.

According to insiders say the split was amicable, and he recently wished her all the best for the jungle on social media. Aitch is also single after splitting with Lois Cottam before going into the jungle.
