Real Housewives of Atlanta star Porsha Williams recently announced that her divorce from Simon Guobadia has been finalized. However, it seems there’s still bad blood between the two, as he’s now demanding a hefty judgment from the reality star, thanks to some of her previous social media accusations.
This news follows the announcement in June that a judge had ruled the prenuptial agreement between Porsha and Simon would be enforced. Notably, Simon had wanted the opposite. As a result, Porsha will receive $40,000 per month in alimony for 15 months and the Rolls-Royce he gifted her, and she will retain the marital home for the time being. Porsha will have to decide by 2027 whether she wants to remain in the house or sell it.
According to US Weekly, Simon is now seeking $500,000 due to Porsha having previously made social media posts stating that he suffered from erectile dysfunction. The requested judgment is over lost business opportunities and sponsorships. The businessman is also seeking damages due to her statements diminishing his reputation and causing emotional distress and humiliation.
Notably, this comes after Simon sued the RHOA star for defamation in 2024 over various Instagram posts. His attorney said, “These posts were intentionally crafted to imply that [Guobadia] suffers from this condition, casting him in a negative and humiliating light.”
The statement continued, “The nature, timing, and context of these posts, amidst the couple’s public separation, led reasonable viewers to infer that [Williams’] statements were referring to [Guobadia] – because they were.”
Court documents claim that Porsha’s Instagram posts were “presented in a factual manner” to imply that he had erectile dysfunction. The docs also say the posts “clearly intended to cast” Simon in a “negative and humiliating light.” The lawyer continued, “[Williams’] statements were false; [Guobadia] does not have ED and has never suffered from or been diagnosed with this condition.”
The lawsuit also stated, “By making these claims in a public forum, [Williams] ensured their immediate and widespread dissemination, amplifying the harm to [Guobadia’s] credibility and social esteem.” Porsha’s attorney responded to the previously filed lawsuit and requested that it be dismissed.
According to the response, “None of [Williams’] posts refer to any particular individual, let alone [Guobadia] specifically. [Williams] cannot and should not be held liable for sharing information regarding a common condition that likely plagues many of [Williams’] social media followers. For this reason, and the reasons detailed herein, this Court should dismiss [Guobadia’s] Complaint in its entirety.”
The response continued, “These posts simply provide information regarding a common condition, and Defendant even uses the hashtag ‘Mens Health Awareness’ to draw awareness to the information that may help some of Defendant’s social media followers.”
Simon and his legal team also plan to submit his medical records as evidence.
