Polygamy isn’t generally accepted in society. This concept is the driving force behind Sister Wives, which follows Kody Brown, his four wives, and their 18 children as they attempt to navigate this society. While this show is quite unique for reality television, it isn’t without the usual drama. Most of Kody’s marriages have fallen apart in recent years, giving the show a new dimension.

Christine Brown was the first of his wives to leave. She would later meet and fall in love with David Woolley. The two would eventually get married and their journey down the aisle became a major storyline in the series.

While David and Christine have both raved about their first year as a married couple, their status as public figures isn’t without its share of challenges. However, if there’s one thing Christine has proved, it’s that she knows how to handle those challenges. Recently, there have been rumors swirling concerning trouble in paradise. Despite these rumors, Christine made it clear that the couple were still very happily in love.

Christine Brown isn’t having any issues with her marriage to David Woolley, despite the rumors. Christine married David in 2023 after splitting from her ex and fellow Sister Wives star Kody Brown. Christine shared a photo of herself posing and smiling in an Instagram video this month. There was an onscreen message which read, “When I read that David and I are not happy.”

After the photo, a series of clips showing the couple laughing and smiling followed. This was clearly Christine’s way of shutting down the rumors. Christine emphasized her point even further by insisting everything was going well in the caption of her post.

“I’m always surprised with what I read about myself,” she wrote. “Don’t you worry, we couldn’t be happier.”

This isn’t the first time the couple has shared their love for each other on social media. In October 2024, David celebrated the couple’s one-year wedding anniversary by sharing a sweet message on Instagram. “I was in Sedona a few weeks ago, it’s really really pretty there, just like @christinebrownsw is,” he captioned a selfie of the two. “I’m so glad she found me, and stalked me.”

David used the opportunity to reflect on how he viewed the past year of being married to Christine. He let followers know that it had been an extremely positive experience for him. “This last year has been a hell of a ride,” he continued. “She’s the most thoughtful, loving, caring person. I’m enjoying this ride and want to just keep riding.”

Christine and Kody split up in 2021 after being in a spiritual marriage for 25 years. The couple also had six children together. Following the split, Christine started using a matchmaker, which led her to meet David in late 2022. Christine said she formed an instant connection with David.

The couple’s courtship and marriage were documented during Sister Wives‘ 19th season. Christine and David walked down the aisle in 2023, with Christine’s former sister wife Janelle Brown, by her side. Most of her children with Kody were also in attendance. After Christine split from Kody, Janelle and Meri Brown followed suit. Kody was then left with his only remaining wife, Robyn Brown.

Christine Brown And David Woolley Are Married, But Did They Move Too Fast?

On the Jan. 12 episode of Sister Wives, viewers finally saw the wedding of Christine Brown and David Woolley. Everyone loves seeing Christine so happy, but the running theme of this season is that Christine and David may have moved too fast, especially since they knew each other less than a year before tying the knot. But, their marriage appears to be going strong, since they were actually married in October of 2023. What do you think? Are Christine and David in it for life, or do you think they went too fast?

In October 2024, Christine talked about her friendship with Janelle to E! News. “We’re living our best lives,” Christine said. “I would say that’s the best way I can sum it up. It really is.” There was also a major milestone in her marriage to David, which Christine said she was very happy about. “We’re finally going on our honeymoon,” she gushed. “We’re leaving on November 1.”

Christine Said She Is Still Haunted By Her Marriage To Kody, Despite Being Happy With David

Despite the happiness she has found with husband David, Christine recently admitted in an episode of Sister Wives that she remains haunted by her time with Kody.

“I do have a lot of dreams and nightmares, all kinds of ones where we’re living together in the same house again,” Christine said.“ I wake up in a panic sometimes. I’m like, ‘Where’s David? Where’s David in all of this? Why am I married to Kody again? I don’t know how this is happening.’”

Christine detailed her process of handling the intrusive dreams during a confessional. “It’s hard,” Christine began. “I don’t want to relive the past. People are like, ‘Would you do it all over again?’ I’m like, ‘Not going to answer that question because I just move on.’ I’m just moving on.”

In August 2022, nearly a year after her split from Kody, Christine opened up to People about her life after the marriage. According to Christine, leaving the marriage was the best thing she could’ve done. She said that she was much happier as a result. “I get to live life for me,” she told the outlet. “My whole world has changed, and every single cell in my body is happier.”

Christine said that a plural marriage was always something she yearned for, but she began having a change of heart in 2018. “I started thinking maybe this isn’t working for me,” Christine said. “And then I stopped believing in polygamy. I realized I didn’t really want to live it anymore. I didn’t like sharing a husband or feeling like I wasn’t important.”

Following the split, Christine decided to relocate to Salt Lake City, Utah with her daughter Truely. The Sister Wives star said this was her chance to start a new chapter.

“We got here and that night when I went to bed, I realized I was home,” Christine recalled. “It was just like that. And I got to start over again and it was exciting and it was new and so scary because I had no idea what to expect, but I was so excited. I remember feeling hope for the first time in a long time because I just got to take my life by my own and go. It was wonderful.”

Christine said her co-parenting with Kody has been going well. Kody was said to have been seeing Truely often. However, Christine said that she and Truely were completely embracing their new situation. “I can’t tell you how many times I’ve opened up Truely’s door and been like, ‘What should we do for fun today?’ And so we just pick a destination and we go and we just have fun and we just go and explore. I mean, it’s just absolutely amazing,” she said. “And now that I live here, there’s so many things to do and I just want to do it all.”

The conversation then turned to dating. This interview took place before Christine met David, and she was honest about her thoughts. While Christine said she wanted to date eventually, she didn’t feel she was ready to just yet.

“I would love to date. Love the idea of the end having a romantic partner. But I talked to Truely about it the other day and she’s like, ‘Mom, I really like our life how it is now.’ Down the road. I’m just going to let fate take care of that one.” Christine said that when she does start dating, “I want a guy who actually loves me and wants to be with me intimately,” she revealed. “I will be a monogamist from here on out.”

Christine said that her children were her number one priority at that time. “I just want to be an example to my kids more than anything. I always told them, ‘Do what’s going to make you happy,’ I have to do the same.”

Christine Raved About Monogamy While Reflecting On Her Marriage To David

It turns out that Christine’s feelings about monogamy turned out to be accurate. After one year of marriage to David, Christine spoke with Us Weekly about the happiness she found. She also told the outlet that the experience made her sure of the fact that monogamy is for her.

“I’m happier than I’ve ever been,” Christine said. “We’re totally a partnership. I absolutely love monogamy — I was made for it.” She said that in their marriage, “there’s no keeping score,” instead Christine and David “just both love and mov[ing] forward.”

Christine gushed about their first year of marriage, saying, “Full of adventure and security at the same time. It’s amazing how much stuff we’ve been able to do, just having a good time together. David and I just synced up our lives together and I feel like we’ve accomplished so much. We’ve just had a blast and it’s just been wonderful being loved and loving. It’s just been amazing.”

The outlet even asked Christine about the couple’s first anniversary presents to each other. “I bought corny shirts to wear in Disneyland,” she revealed. “Mine said, ‘My Husband Is My Superhero,’ and his said, ‘My Favorite Villain Is My Wife,’ and had Malificent on it.”

Christine went on, “I collect nutcrackers and he got me four nutcrackers and they are all freaking beautiful! Like a wizard one and a Jack and Sally from Nightmare Before Christmas and then an Irishman … and a Thanksgiving one.” She told the outlet that she celebrated her anniversary with David by taking him to “a very favorite restaurant.” She continued, “Then, all of the leaves are changing in Utah now, so we went for a lovely drive through the mountains.”

Christine recounted the couple’s first date, saying it took place on David’s birthday. “Our first date was his birthday date,” she said. “[It] was absolutely fun. We found this wonderful restaurant and we had our first dirty martini together. We both never had a martini before and then we had, like, some oysters, and he hadn’t had oysters before. I feel like there’s [sic] so many things that have been first for us like that, we’ve explored together.”

And it turned out to be a wonderful birthday present for David. Christine told the outlet that she knew David was the one “on our third date. I put my head on his chest, and when I heard his heartbeat, it synced up with mine. I felt like I took my first breath. It caught me off guard.”
