Meghan Markle has been handed a brutal public dressing-down after crashing to what critics are calling an “all-time low” with British voters — and Sky News wasted no time tearing into the numbers. Fresh YouGov polling shows the Duchess of Sussex languishing at just 19 per cent favourability, a figure so bleak it prompted savage on-air commentary as presenters and pundits lined up to dissect her collapse in popularity. Prince Harry fared little better, but it was Meghan who took the hardest hits as the figures were revealed.
Meghan Markle has faced intense public criticism after her approval ratings with British voters plummeted to what some are calling an unprecedented low. Sky News quickly spotlighted the latest YouGov poll findings, which reveal the Duchess of Sussex’s favorability at a mere 19 percent. This dismal number has sparked harsh commentary from presenters and analysts eager to explore the reasons behind her decline in popularity. While Prince Harry didn’t fare much better, it was Meghan who bore the brunt of the criticism as the poll results were unveiled.
During discussions on the results, UK barrister Andrew Eborn suggested that the couple is finally feeling the repercussions of prolonged negative press, delivering a stinging assessment of Meghan’s waning reputation with no room for a favorable spin. Presenter Gabriella Power set the stage by introducing the data, noting, “The latest poll reveals the most popular Royals, with the Prince and Princess of Wales leading the pack, while Andrew Mountbatten Windsor and Meghan Markle have dropped to historic lows. No surprises there.”

Eborn blasted back: “Prince Harry and Meghan – there was all this backlash following all this negative publicity. Prince Harry is at 31% and Meghan, she won’t be pleased about this, she’s at 19%.
“She’ll be spitting those edible flowers in disgust. That’s an all-time low for her.”
Eborn remarked, “There has been significant backlash against Prince Harry and Meghan due to ongoing negative publicity. Prince Harry’s approval stands at 31%, and Meghan, who will find this particularly disappointing, is at 19%.”
Eborn contrasted their dominance with Meghan’s slide, saying: “Prince William and Princess Catherine topped the charts with 74 to 77% favourable views, which is solidifying their status as the monarch’s golden jewel basically.
“King Charles is doing pretty well as well got 60% approval and everybody’s favourite Royal Princess Anne, apart from William and Catherine, she shines at 70%.”
King Charles III continues to retain solid backing, with six in 10 Britons expressing positive views of the monarch, compared with roughly three in 10 who see him unfavourably.
Princess Anne remains one of the most consistently popular figures in the Royal Family, while the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh also perform steadily, with around half of Britons viewing Prince Edward and Sophie positively.
Queen Camilla, however, has seen her numbers slip. Andrew noted: “Queen Camilla surprisingly is down at 42% which is the lowest figure she’s had since March 2021.”
Two-thirds of respondents now hold negative opinions of Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, who is reportedly planning her first UK visit since 2022 later this summer.
Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has now sunk to his worst-ever score, with nine in 10 Britons holding an unfavourable view following his removal from royal duties and honorary military roles amid renewed scrutiny over his links to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Eborn added: “There is only one person who ranks lower than Meghan, no surprise at all, the former Duke of York with his dirty dossier. He plummets to a shocking 3% positive rating. Who were those 3%?”
