Spencer Pratt Was In It To Win It On Got To Get Out

Spencer Pratt first rose to fame thanks to MTV’s The Hills, and in the years that have followed, he has proven himself as a reality TV favorite. Pratt has starred in several shows, including Celebrity Big Brother and Marriage Boot Camp, but his most recent competition series is Hulu’s Got To Get Out. As the title suggests, the aim is simple: get out of the house and win the grand prize of $1 million (of course, getting out is the hard part).

Pratt’s strategizing ability has served him well in previous reality shows, and he is a serious competitor. Because he is no stranger to reality TV, he was also in a position to advise some of the other contestants. But how did he do this?

In an interview with RealityTea, Pratt shared his advice for other contestants and the importance of staying true to themselves. “I always tell people, ‘Just be yourself.’ Like whatever you really do, do that,'” he said. “Cause once you go past that, now you’re creating characters out of your own existence and you’re gonna confuse yourself. So just say how you really feel about things, and you know, just try to be authentic, and you’re gonna have a lot easier time. And whether people don’t like you or they like you, at least it’s you.”

Pratt is one of the rare people who doesn’t mind if others think badly of him, and he’s had a reputation in the past for being a villain. Still, he knows how to win. “Spoiler alert: I leave the house with money,” he confessed. However, the show’s synopsis reveals that there could be more than one winner!

“They can split the money equally in the end, or at any point in time, try to make their escape with the accumulated money all for themselves, leaving others to start again at $0,” the synopsis reads, per People. “From wild strategies and temptations to shifting alliances and unbelievable escape attempts, the players will try any and every way to make it out of the gate and win the prize.”

You love Pratt or you hate him! Fellow Got To Get Out contestant and reality TV alum Omarosa has commented on playing the game with him and how she doesn’t shy away from villains. “I like villains. I like Spencer. I loved playing with him. I loved all his antics,” she told Parade. “Every time he upped his game, I upped my game. When he changed his strategy, I evolved my strategy. We played off of each other.”

In her interview, she also hinted that she and Pratt perhaps helped each other out a little, as she claimed they “shared information behind the scenes.” The duo also has more core similarities than fans may realize. “He’s married; I’m married,” she said (Pratt is married to his former The Hills costar Heidi Montag). “There were times that we went off and we lamented about being away from our spouses. So there was a very human side. But we also recognize that being the most senior of the reality stars that we had to bring our game. And I will tell you, Spencer brought it, and I brought it. And I think we represent it well for the vets.”

Pratt and Omarosa may be reality competition veterans, but other big stars join them for this season. These include former Real Housewives’ Kim Zolciak, Cynthia Bailey, DWTS pro dancer Val Chmerkovskiy, and Rashad Jennings (there are 20 contestants in total).
