VPR Alums Stassi Schroeder and Katie Maloney Shade 'The Valley,' Say There's No Balance and Everyone Is Out For Blood

Season two of The Valley is currently airing on Bravo. Recently, former Vanderpump Rules stars Stassi Schroeder, Dayna Kathan, and Katie Maloney weighed in on the series, saying, like many fans, that it’s gotten far too dark and that it lacks some of what makes for great reality television.

Regarding The Valley, Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright are among the most talked-about cast members. The two are going through a divorce, and the show has dealt with Jax’s substance abuse issues as well as his going to rehab.

On a recent episode of the Disrespectfully podcast, Stassi, Katie, and Dayna commented on the current season of The Valley. Naturally, the three women have ties to many of the people on the show. Katie started by saying, “It’s so intense that like everyone is, like, out for blood, I feel like on that show. It’s fu**ing nuts.”

From there, they agreed that they enjoyed the first season, but the second installment has gone too far.

Stassi said, “This is so fu**ing dark, and it’s not even interesting enough to, like, balance the darkness. I’m just like, this is making me feel uncomfortable. It’s making me feel icky. Like, I need to tap out, otherwise I’m gonna have to talk to my therapist about what it all means.”

Katie then said, “Obviously, divorce and things like that are real-life things, and they’re intense and at times chaotic and toxic, but it was like on another level with some of these people.”

Dayna added, “Also, to have beef and hard things happening, I feel like there needs to be a balance of like real love and connectivity.”

Stassi responded, “Which I thought was there for them the first season. But I guess like now watching, I’m like you guys don’t give a f**k about each other.”

Katie chimed in, “No, I feel like a lot of them don’t have the same history, so the stakes aren’t really there to mend things or try to, like, navigate certain situations or conversations. It seems like everyone is willing to throw each other under the bus and say horrific things, and everyone wants to be the morally superior one.”

Ultimately, they agreed that everyone in reality TV needs to play their role; otherwise, the show will end up boring and unbalanced.

The Disrespectfully podcast is available on all platforms.
