Bravo’s The Valley has wrapped Season 2, and although the series has been popular, some fans also feel it has been depressing. Stassi Schroeder, who previously starred on Vanderpump Rules with some of the stars of The Valley recently shared her thoughts about why she can no longer watch the show.
“I had to stop watching it. The last season, I was like ‘This is great f***ing television,'” Schroeder said on a recent episode of the Disrespectfully podcast with Katie Maloney and Dayna Kathan, per Us Weekly. “Then I started the first two or three episodes of this season, and I’m like, ‘This is so f***ing dark.’ Indeed, some of the subject matter on the show does not make for lighthearted viewing and Schroeder has some suggestions for how production can fix this.
Stassi Schroeder Discusses The Darkness Of ‘The Valley’
In her chat on the podcast, which aired in late June, Schroeder added, “It’s so dark and it’s not interesting enough to balance the darkness. I’m just like, ‘This is making me feel uncomfortable. It’s making me feel icky. I need to tap out otherwise I’m going to have to talk to my therapist about what it all means.'”
She also noted how the cast don’t care about each other. Ahead of Season 3, fans have been questioning if The Valley will be making adjustments to its cast. This is because the network will likely want to avoid repeating the drama and toxicity that happened on the set of Vanderpump Rules, and with some of its cast members going through bitter breakups, this can create filming issues. Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright are getting divorced, and Jesse Lally and Michelle Lally are also on bad terms.
Maloney, who was also on Vanderpump Rules, echoed Schroeder’s thoughts on the Disrespectfully podcast episode and referred to The Valley as “intense” and “nuts.”
“Being on reality TV [makes] it hard to watch it through the same lens as other people watch it I think. I think people who are seasoned watchers are smart and they have an idea of how things work,” she said. “Even watching a show like The Valley it’s so … intense. Everyone is out for blood on that show it’s f***ing nuts.”
Will ‘The Valley’ Change Its Cast For Season 3?
It is not just Stassi Schroeder and Katie Maloney who feel some changes need to be made to The Valley if the show wants to stay on air. A source told OK! Magazine that production are going to be making changes to the cast, but that fans may see some of their reality TV favorites sign on.
“Tom Sandoval and Tom Schwartz have been interviewed,” the insider claims. “They also have talked to Ariana Madix’s brother, Jeremy Madix. There’s also a possibility Michelle’s boyfriend Aaron Nosler’s ex-girlfriend, could join the cast. Jesse’s new girlfriend Lacy Nicole is also a contender.”
Could the inclusion of new cast members alter the show’s dynamics and result in more lighthearted entertainment?
