TV star Steph McGovern was reportedly “rushed to medics” after driving into a cliff during a gruelling challenge on Netflix’s star-studded show, Bear Hunt.

Described as “the ultimate survival challenge,” the reality series follows 12 unlikely celebrities as prey for legendary survival expert Bear Grylls in the Costa Rican jungle.

However, the series has seemed to take a life-threatening turn after The Sun reported that Steph almost broke her nose after swinging face-first into a cliff.

The presenter is also said to have struggled to walk after and was covered in bruises, while at one point there were fears she may have been concussed.

According to the insider, Netflix host Holly Willoughby was forced to hold back tears and raised concerns about Steph’s ability to continue on the show.

Thankfully, after 24 hours, Steph was deemed fit to continue, but she can be seen in the show’s trailer with a plaster across her nose.

The source claimed: “Not only was it terrifying for Steph, but for everyone watching – cast, crew and Holly included.

“Holly was visibly shaken and close to tears, and at one point could be seen covering her face with her hands.

“It was touch and go about whether Steph would have to leave on medical grounds, so she was monitored for the next 24 hours.”

“But Steph is a trooper – she was determined to stay and luckily for her, she was given the green light to continue,” they added to The Sun.

As fans await the Bear Hunt premiere on February 5, it was also reported that Steph wasn’t the only one to face a life-threatening accident on the show.

Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen reportedly almost died during filming before being rescued by Bear Grylls.

A source told MailOnline: “Laurence was very shaken as was everyone. He said that he thought he was a goner.

“It was a very serious situation and at the time we thought that maybe Netflix wouldn’t show what happened because it was that bad, but now it looks as if it will be in the programme.”

The source added: “Netflix were very very apologetic about it afterwards.”
