Summer House produced several reality television stars, including Paige DeSorbo. She became the subject of attention thanks to her relationship with fellow reality star Craig Conover. However, the two would go their separate ways toward the end of last year.

Paige was very careful not to reveal too many details about their split. This caused fans to delve further into their relationship, seeking out answers which led to rumors. One of these rumors involved Paige cheating on Craig, which she denied.

However, Craig would confirm one of the rumors when he told fans that he wasn’t expecting a breakup. He never addressed the rumors Paige cheated on him, however. This caused Paige’s best friend, Amanda Batula, to speak out in defense of the reality star. Amanda would tell the media that Craig should’ve cleared up the cheating rumors about Paige.

Amanda Batula Said Craig Should’ve Shut Down Rumors Page Cheated On Him

Amanda Batula showed how good of a friend she is to Paige when she recently spoke to Page Six’s Virtual Reali-Tea about her bestie’s breakup with Craig Conover. Amanda was joined by her husband Kyle Cooke and the two didn’t mince words when sharing their feelings about Craig. Amanda said that she feels Craig should’ve done more to shut down rumors that Paige cheated on him.

“To not clear up any of the cheating rumors is insanity. Insanity,” Amanda told the outlet. “That was still your girlfriend of three years. Like, stand up for her a little bit,” she went on, addressing Craig directly. “He’s been silent.”

However, Craig has best friends who are standing up for him too. When Austen Kroll appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, he told the host that Paige “moved on with another guy” after her split with Craig. “I don’t think that those are rumors. I think that they’ve been substantiated,” Austen alleged. He also said that Craig “knows as such.”

Austen continued, “You know, he didn’t know for a minute, but yeah. I think that he’s fully come to terms with that. That’s not a rumor.” This didn’t slip by without a comment from Paige, however. She called out Austen’s claims on Instagram, writing in a comment, “Ahhh yes a man I haven’t spoken To in 6 months knows exactly what I’m doing.”

Amanda told Page Six that she knew of “multiple conversations” between the former couple that dealt with their future as a couple. Amanda claimed that Paige and Craig spoke openly about the fact that their union wasn’t going in a positive direction. “But he was ‘shocked,’” she said. Amanda went on to say that she could hardly “even speak” for Craig regarding his feelings on the matter. “Paige was nothing but kind in her words and Craig was just… he sent the dogs after her.”

While there are rumors of Paige’s current status in the wake of the breakup, she has yet to share whether there is already someone new. Craig seems to be following the same model, as he also hasn’t shared if he’s started dating yet. Despite this, Us Weekly reported that Craig is on the popular celebrity dating app, Raya. During her chat with Page Six, Amanda couldn’t resist commenting on those rumors. “Those girls are so lucky. I can’t wait for them to match with him,” Amanda said in a sarcastic tone. “Good luck!”

Paige wasn’t just the subject of cheating rumors following her breakup with Craig. She was also rumored to be dating Marcello Hernandez, who is best known for the viral “Domingo” skit from Saturday Night Live. Deuxmoi posted a blind item alleging Paige was spotted on New Year’s Eve with a mystery man. This led to many Bravo fan accounts trying to figure out the mystery man’s identity. This is when the Snark Bait podcast made a claim that it was “a New York City-based comedian.” This is when Marcello’s name was brought into the conversation.

Instead of waiting for the dust to settle, Paige set the record straight on social media. She responded directly to comments on TikTok where fans were repeating online rumors. Paige jokingly wrote, “See you in court” while responding to someone accusing her of having a new man. Many of her followers will recognize this as a catchphrase she coined with her Giggly Squad cohost, Hannah Berner.

Page Six reported on one fan video which presented a theory that Paige “called it quits” with Craig after she found out that he was “about to propose.” This would explain why the split “caught him off guard” and ultimately “ruined the proposal.” Paige, however, denied this was the case, commenting, “I’m obsessed with all of this fan fiction.”

Paige officially confirmed the news of her split with Craig on an episode of The Giggly Squad podcast in December. She let listeners know that she and Craig “decided to no longer be together.”

“I love him, I think he loves me. I think we will remain friends. No one did anything. It wasn’t a bad thing,” Paige told fans. “I think we both were just being really mature and saying what we want and what we didn’t want, and I think that’s extremely powerful to be able to voice how you’re feeling in real time and what you want for your future.”

Paige claimed that they had every intention of remaining friends, saying, “I have so much love and respect for Craig… I will remain the biggest fan for him and want the best for him, and he truly will get the best, because he is the best. But, with that said, I think it is the right decision for both of us.”

The two started dating in 2021 and have had a long-distance relationship for most of the time. South Carolina is where Craig calls home. Paige, meanwhile, lives miles away in New York City. This caused a lot of people to wonder how the two would maintain the connection. Three years into the relationship, Craig spoke to Us Weekly at the Hayu FanFest, where he defended their circumstances.

“We spend as much time as we can together and we’re patient with each other,” Craig said. “We’re in a great place and, fortunately, New York and Charleston are two awesome places to spend time. We just got to put the work in.”

Another rumor going around claimed Bravo pre-planned the breakup announcement. Many found this to be believable, considering the fact that Craig previously denied the two were splitting. However, Paige said this was also untrue.

“It’s a very sad thing. And just to say this — not that I even have to — but in terms of people saying, ‘Oh, Paige was told to wait until Southern Charm came out or Summer House came out.’ No one can tell me what to do,” Paige clarified. “The network has power, but they don’t have that much power.”

She continued, “That is not a real thing. Rumors of us breaking up months ago was also not a real thing. Our first rumor was that we were in a PR relationship. So we’ve been with these rumors our whole relationship and we didn’t really give it a second thought. But I didn’t want [my listeners] to think I was leaving them out of the loop or something. Not at all.”

Craig Told His Followers That The Breakup With Paige Caught Him Off Guard

Craig first commented about the breakup in a video posted to his Instagram in January. He told fans that the breakup took him by surprise, confirming at least one aspect of the fan theories floating around TikTok.

“I figured it’s finally time to check in with everyone,” Craig said in the clip. “Sorry about the delay, this has all been very, very unexpected to say the least… But I guess I gotta start living again, whatever that looks like. Whatever my new normal looks like — I have to start.” Craig told followers that he has been trying to follow the advice he’s received from people in his life. According to him, this advice is, “‘Gratitude will get you through this, with time comes clarity’ – all of the advice, I’m trying to listen to.”

Craig went on to describe the surprising aspect of the breakup.

“[It happened] right before the holidays,” he began. “I was very shocked. And it’s OK. It takes two people to be in a relationship and you can’t control other people, you can only control how you react to it. Remember to be kind to Paige and me and yourselves and all of that good stuff.”

He let his fans know that while he is doing well, he’s still processing what took place. “I’m still processing everything, which is normal,” he said. “It’s a three-year relationship, it’s your best friend who you talk to all day everyday, and then they’re just gone. So, you know, one day I’ll be able to talk more on it.”

Craig then thanked his supporters for their “kind message” and being supportive during the split. Craig continued, “It’s just life. I have to take my own advice… that no one is ever not better off after a breakup.” Craig decided to end things on a positive note, saying, “But I guess now I gotta practice what I preach and believe it and truly have faith in God that everything happens for a reason. But I love you all and I’ll see everyone on my travels this January. We got a lot coming up.”
