James Martin’s followers flooded him with support as he shared an update away from Saturday Morning. The presenter, 52, has fronted the ITV programme since 2017, following his departure from BBC’s Saturday Kitchen the year prior.

Away from his career as a celebrity chef and television presenter, James also runs other successful businesses. He opened Tavern at The Lygon Arms in the Cotswolds in March 2023.

Nestled on the village high street, The Tavern offers high quality pup food available for anyone to enjoy. On Instagram, the presenter reminded his followers of where they can sit down for a luxurious lunch, writing: “Step off Broadway High Street and enjoy a laid-back lunch at Tavern by James Martin.

“Relax in the cosy ambience with a local cider or ale and indulge in a bite from our blackboard menu.”

The post was immediately met with praise from social media users, who shared their positive experiences of visiting the pub.

“Loved it here and staff made it such a lovely evening,” penned one fan as a second agreed: “Awesome place. Incredible service and food.”

Another echoed: “Great spot looking forward to returning,” as a fourth added: “Everything looks great as always.”

It comes after James opened up about his harrowing experience with facial skin cancer, which left him in “debilitating pain”.

The TV chef was first diagnosed in 2018 and has since endured multiple surgeries as the cancer “returned on several occasions” and required ongoing treatment.

Recounting the ordeal, James shared that the period around his diagnosis was “one of the most fraught and difficult periods of my life”, a time marred by personal loss and trauma, including missing his grandfather’s funeral and experiencing a burglary at his home.

The gravity of his condition even led him to contemplate organising his own funeral. Six years on, James revealed he’s turned a corner in his health journey, telling Candis Magazine: “But this is the first time in six years that I feel as fit as a fiddle.”

With his health improving, James has adopted a more relaxed outlook on life and is looking to a bright future. He’s channelled his energy into new ventures, including his pub in the Cotswolds. Revealing his 10-year plan, he added: “I’ve got this dream. I’d have my own place called Eight which would be open eight days a month serving an eight-course menu to 18 people.”
