Survivor Legend Rob Mariano Teases Fans With Dancing With The Stars Season 34 Rumors

Reality TV fans know exactly who Rob Mariano is, better known as Survivor legend, “Boston Rob.” After competing in six seasons of the iconic series and winning Season 22 (Survivor: Redemption Island), Rob also became part of one of the most memorable reality TV love stories when he met his wife, Amber Brkich, on the show.

Rob is a thrill-seeker, and didn’t just stop trying to “outwit, outlast and outplay” his competitors on Survivor. He’s taken on global challenges in The Amazing Race, competed on the first season of Deal or No Deal Island, and popped up as a shocking Traitor in Season 3’s The Traitors.

So, it really could be said that Rob is more than just a Survivor legend; he’s easily become a reality TV icon. However, would he ever consider putting on a pair of dancing shoes to compete in the upcoming season of Dancing With the Stars?

Rob Mariano is an adventure seeker through and through, having first made his Survivor debut in the series’ fourth season, where he placed tenth. He would go on to star in five more seasons (winning Season 22) and continue to pop up on other competitive reality TV shows through the years.

While Rob has become an expert in Survivor gameplay, it sounds like there is a possibility that he might trade his buff for dance shoes.

While speaking to Access Hollywood, Rob was asked if there was a chance that he would compete in the upcoming 34th season of Dancing With the Stars. It’s definitely a real possibility given that Rob has just competed in the hit reality series The Traitors Season 3 and the first-ever season of Deal or No Deal Island. Fans would never say no to more Rob on their television screens.

Rob kept his answer short and sweet. “I cannot confirm or deny anything,” he told the reporter. Rob laughed at the notion that he could be on DWTS and the thought of seeing him on the dance floor is certainly intriguing to his fans.

If chosen for Dancing With the Stars Season 34, Rob would make history as the first Survivor castaway to ever dance in the ballroom. The show typically leans into recent newsworthy reality stars like Bachelor and Bachelorette alums, athletes, and celebs fresh off a headline-making moment. But with Rob’s back-to-back TV appearances on The Traitors (his bromance with contestant Dylan Efron has only catapulted his stardom) and Deal or No Deal Island, he would be a phenomenal contestant in the new season.

Rob Revealed The One Aspect That Made The Traitors Much More Difficult Than Survivor

Rob joined the Season 3 cast of The Traitors in an unexpected twist. He joined as a skillful Traitor and quickly befriended Faithful Dylan Efron, which helped him attempt to create connections with other Faithfuls in the mansion. He turned his back on his fellow Traitor, Bob the Drag Queen, and was later sniffed out by Vanderpump Rules’ Tom Sandoval, having been banished in Episode 7.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Rob surprisingly shared that being on The Traitors was much trickier than Survivor, despite Rob being an expert in cutthroat gameplay. For Rob, it was the number of people he had to come across on The Traitors that made it a much more difficult form of competition.

“The main thing that’s different from Traitors than Deal or No Deal Island, and Survivor for that matter, is the sheer number of people involved,” he told the outlet.

He continued, “Even on Survivor, even if it’s a season where there’s 20 people, they’re split into two camps, so you’ve got to manage 10 people. On Traitors, there’s 22 people. I mean, just trying to talk to that amount of people in the amount of time that you have before you go to the Round Table or challenge or anything — it’s almost impossible. And it’s definitely impossible to have a one-on-one conversation with anyone.”

Who Will Be Competing On Dancing With The Stars Season 34?

Slowly but surely, more and more news is coming out about the upcoming 34th season of Dancing With the Stars. However, as of this writing, there has only been one celebrity contestant announced for new season. That celeb is Australian conservationist and reality star Robert Irwin.

Robert Irwin is the son of the legendary Steve Irwin, famously known as The Crocodile Hunter, thanks to his wildly popular late-’90s show of the same name. Steve’s passion for wildlife made him a global icon, and his tragic death in 2006 — caused by a stingray injury — left the world mourning. He left behind his wife, Terri, and their two children, Bindi and Robert. Growing up surrounded by that same deep love for animals, Robert has proudly carried on his father’s legacy as a conservationist and zookeeper in Australia.

The Bachelor’s Joey Graziadi and his professional partner Jenna Johnson won the coveted Mirrorball Trophy on Season 33 of Dancing With the Stars.

Robert’s announcement was made during Disney Entertainment Television’s Get Real Event in Los Angeles on April 22nd.

“I cannot tell you what a privilege, what an honor it is to be joining this season,” he shared before mentioning that his older sister, Bindi, had also competed. In fact, Bindi won Season 21 with her professional partner, Derek Hough. “I said, ‘One day, that’s gonna be me.’ And now, that dream is a reality, and I am over the moon. Let’s do this!'”

Although Robert was named as DWTS Season 34’s first competitor, it’s still unclear who his partner will be. However, there’s speculation that he would be paired with Rylee Arnold. The dancer had once shared that she hoped he would compete in a future season with her as his partner.
