Sydney Sweeney has a new gig in the works, as Deadline reports that she will appear in the new “Barbarella” movie. She has also been tapped as one of the flick’s executive producers. It appears as if the Emmy nominee is cashing in on her fame thanks to “Euphoria,” which has become the second-most-watched show on the platform (per Variety). Yet, Sweeney told The Hollywood Reporter that she could not solely rely on her income as an actor. “If I just acted, I wouldn’t be able to afford my life in L.A. I take [brand] deals because I have to,” she said.
The Washington native has now explained why she made those statements to the outlet. In a recent interview with Elle, she dished, “I was asked if I wanted to have a family and I said yes. And then I was asked why I didn’t have one yet, and I was like, I don’t have time to take even, like, a six-month break.” Sweeney added, “Like, I don’t have time to be able to start this family. I’m working so much and I’m focusing on that right now. And so it was kind of skewed with the public and taken out of context.” She went on to say that being “a working mother” is important and that it’s something she “really want[s] to achieve … one day.”
