Taylor Swift takes a moment to honor Dolly Parton, one of country music’s most iconic figures.
“Imagining a world absent of Dolly seems impossible, unreal, and unjust,” Swift expressed to Page Six following the passing of Parton on Tuesday, who was 80 at the time. “Her incredible generosity during her lifetime and the profound impact she had on countless individuals ensure that her legacy will endure forever.”
The “Cruel Summer” vocalist described Parton as “a continual source of joy.”
“Dolly inspired us to admire her while also teaching us to embrace our uniqueness. She had a rare ability to impart life lessons with both sincerity and humor,” Swift added. “Though she maintained an air of mystery about parts of her life, she offered complete transparency where it mattered most.”
Swift further commended the “Jolene” vocalist for embodying “true elegance and resilience, united in one brilliant persona,” highlighting that “she had immense compassion for those facing hardships and a steadfast determination to guard her own value as an artist.”
“Along with her other fans, I am so grateful for all of it,” she added. “For the melodies and lyrics she wrote that thawed even the coldest hearts. For the millions of books she provided children all over the world so that they might fall in love with stories the way she did. For the tightropes she walked so that young girls like me could grow up dreaming of joining the circus too.
Swift concluded her statement, saying, “Dolly, I’ll think of you each step of the way.”
This is a developing story…
