Though none of the original moms are teens anymore, MTV’s Teen Mom franchise propelled a group of young moms into the spotlight over a decade ago, and they’ve never really left. Technically, Jenelle Evans did part ways with MTV, but followers who watched her on the franchise still keep up via social media and, unfortunately, the occasional court case or arrest record.
Things haven’t always been easy for Jenelle (fans suggest her lack of growth while on MTV wasn’t really her fault), and custody issues have plagued her both on and off MTV. There was also a time when everyone hoped Jenelle would divorce her husband, David Eason, because of his seemingly aggressive behavior. Now, though, onlookers have one specific reason they’re worried about Evans’ kids.
Jenelle’s Time On MTV Involved A Lot Of Family Drama
It’s worth noting that fans of Jenelle who have voiced criticisms sometimes have a point about her parenting. 16 and Pregnant didn’t show Jenelle in a positive light from day one, but the young mom didn’t help herself much, either.
Jenelle talked back to her mom while also relying on her to watch her then-infant, Jace, and got in trouble for using substances, among other things.
Much later, once Jenelle married David Eason and had a child with him (her third; first son Jace was with long-ago ex Andrew Lewis, second son Kaiser was with ex Nathan Griffith), things got worse.
MTV reportedly let Jenelle go from Teen Mom because of Eason’s homophobic slurs, but other concerning activity followed; Eason “put down” the family dog in a video that Jenelle later posted to Instagram.
Obviously, many people disapproved of that behavior, and Jenelle has faced a lot of criticism for her lack of action after those and subsequent events.
Fortunately, fans’ recent concerns are vastly different these days when it comes to Jenelle’s kids.
Jenelle Evans’ Followers Are Worried About Her Kids For An Odd Reason
One Reddit user shared a comment thread (in which followers were apparently responding to a video Jenelle Evans posted) that encouraged conversation about Jenelle Evans’ kids.
The original comments suggested that Jenelle’s three kids are “not in sports” and that Jenelle and her children’s fathers are “too lazy to enroll them or take them.”
It seemed many people were simply out to criticize Jenelle’s parenting, but commenters on Reddit were divided.

Some fans thought that Ensley, Kaiser, and Jace not participating in sports or other extracurriculars was “definitely sad and not helpful to them at all.”
One voice of reason pointed out, “That’s really judgmental of parents in general,” noting that not putting kids in activities doesn’t make someone a “bad parent.” What many commenters argued, reasonably, was that putting kids in activities is not always affordable or good for them, if they’re even interested in the first place.
Just as many commenters seemed to disagree due to what they have already observed with Jenelle’s kids, specifically. The consensus was that Jenelle’s kids “need” extracurriculars to overcome some deficit they are experiencing based on how they are parented.
Given that much of MTV’s content featuring Jenelle was critical of her parenting (as well as David’s), it makes sense that Redditors might approach the subject of extracurriculars from such a perspective.
Case in point? One commenter wrote, “It’s Jenelle. Every aspect of her life is bare minimum at best, and probably even worse behind closed doors.”
Did David Eason Ruin The Kids’ Chances At Sports?
Criticizing a parent because their children aren’t in sports or extracurriculars seems petty, on the surface. Redditors backed up their criticisms by bringing up a touchy point in Jenelle and David’s history.
Apparently, at one time, Kaiser did play football. According to commenters, some drama involving David and his apparent claims that he was a coach (though he allegedly wasn’t, nor was he ever qualified to be) essentially shut down Kaiser’s participation in the sport.
That type of issue seems to be fans’ main concern about Jenelle’s kids these days. If the kids are missing out because of their parents, that’s a bummer, they note. Some commenters even thought that based on Jenelle’s content, her kids weren’t in school at all.
One commenter shot that down by suggesting, “They are for sure in school. The court ordered them to be in actual brick and mortar school.”
If that’s true, that’s another layer of support for commenters’ concerns. Ultimately, of course, it’s unlikely that a court would order a child to participate in after-school activities. So either way, Redditors can only shake their heads at this perceived parenting shortcoming.
