Teen Mom’s Farrah Abraham Set To Appear In New A&E Docuseries

Perhaps one of the most controversial cast members to come from the Teen Mom franchise is Farrah Abraham. Farrah was an original cast member of the MTV reality TV show, first appearing in 16 and Pregnant in 2009, then later in the spin-off series Teen Mom and Teen Mom OG.

Known for her strong spirit and occasionally combative personality, Farrah could be seen as consistently controversial, often butting heads with her mother Debra and struggling to balance parenting her daughter with her own personal ambitions. Her career decisions are actually what drove her to be let go from the series, as MTV chose to drop her from the cast after her involvement in the adult industry. Now, Farrah will appear in a new docuseries that will dive more deeply into a dark chapter of her life.

The Series Will Touch On Farrah’s Complicated Career

A new documentary series from A&E will examine the effects of scandalous videos (oftentimes leaked) on celebrities’ careers. Farrah will appear in the series, telling her side of the story about an X-rated tape of her that came out in 2013 and that was rumored to have been deliberately leaked in order to aid Farrah’s career.

To this day, Farrah has denied that the video was a setup, doubling down that it was leaked—despite the fact that the man who appears in the video alongside her, James Deen, is a well-known adult film star. It seems that Farrah will get the chance to set the record straight once and for all, controlling the narrative that at one point had gotten far away from her.

The description of the series notes that it will analyze the cultural effect of each adult video:

[The docuseries] offers an in-depth exploration of some of the most infamous celebrity s** tapes of our time including Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee, Kim Kardashian, Colin Farrell, Farrah Abraham, Mimi Faust, and others. Across eight episodes, hear the story behind each tape and how these iconic moments ignited public obsession, sparked outrage in the cultural zeitgeist and altered the lives of those involved.

Farrah Grows Emotional In The Trailer

It seems like the docuseries will give Farrah a chance to tell her side of the story with some newfound distance. In the trailer for the series, released by A&E’s official YouTube channel, we get a quick glimpse of the Teen Mom star among the other celebrities who are also featured (among them heavy hitters like Kim Kardashian, Pamela Anderson, and Colin Farrell).

In the brief scene where Farrah appears, we hear a producer from behind the camera ask her a single question:

Was the tape originally made to be released?

Though we don’t get Farrah’s answer, we do see her start to tear up, covering her face with a tissue as she grows emotional. It seems as though viewers will have to tune into the series to get Farrah’s full account of the situation. The series premieres on A&E on Monday, September 8th at 9/8pm CT.
