RHONJ's Teresa Giudice on How Danielle Staub Prompted Table-Flip, What She Told Joe Giudice, and Why She Thinks Her Ex-Co-Star Was "Made for TV"

Teresa Giudice looked back on her infamous table-flip while appearing on daughter Gia Giudice‘s podcast last month.

Over a decade and a half after the June 2009 episode aired as part of the debut season of The Real Housewives of New Jersey, Teresa, 53, explained how Danielle Staub, 62, set her off amid their finale feud, shared a comment she made to her then-husband, Joe Giudice, 53, and admitted that her former castmate was “made for TV.”

“In the beginning, she was like insulting me a little bit. That’s what made me flip the table on her,” Teresa told Gia on the May 12 episode of Casual Chaos, via PEOPLE. “Because she would just throw these little jabs at me.”

During the season one finale, which saw Teresa, Danielle, and their co-stars attempting to enjoy a meal, Danielle demanded Teresa “pay attention” as she questioned the cast about the discussions they were having behind her back in regard to Cop Without a Badge, a book that highlighted her allegedly troubled past.

But it wasn’t just Danielle’s aggressive confrontation of the cast that didn’t sit well with Teresa. She explained that she was also upset with her co-star about something she had said to Joe.

“She said to Joe, ‘Don’t speak to me like you speak to your wife.’ Stuff like that. And then I’m the type where I take it, I take it, I take it, and then when I don’t take it anymore, I explode,” she shared.

And explode she did, shouting at Danielle, “Prostitution whore! You were f*cking engaged 19 times!”

While Teresa and Danielle weren’t always on the best of terms on RHONJ, they ultimately made amends years later after Teresa’s 11-month stint in prison.

“I ended up getting to know her, and then look, we ended up making up later on,” she continued, proceeding to applaud Danielle for what she brought to reality television.

“Danielle was… let me tell you, Danielle was made for it. She was TV gold. She really was. She was awesome. She just put it all out there, literally,” Teresa stated. “She was fun and very easy going, just so much fun.”

Although Teresa and Danielle made amends eventually, Teresa said in January on an episode of Hurrdat Entertainment’s Turning the Tables that they were no longer in touch.

“She reached out to me and you know what? I’m not doing that again. We’ve been going back and forth for a while and I’m not opening that can again. That’s closed,” she confirmed.

Then, two months later, on the Michelle Barone – RED podcast, Teresa revealed Danielle texted her “out of nowhere” on New Year’s.

“She’s like, ‘Wishing you all the best in the New Year,’” she recalled. “And I was like, ‘Same to you.’”
