Rob Kardashian has officially made his return to reality television, stepping back into the limelight after an eight-year hiatus.
The 38-year-old surprised fans with an appearance in the season seven premiere of The Kardashians in October 2025. This marks his first significant on-camera engagement since he distanced himself from reality TV in 2017. According to his sister Kim Kardashian, Rob’s return is not just a one-time event—it’s an indication that he is in a healthier and happier place in his life.
During an October 28 interview on SiriusXM’s Radio Andy with Andy Cohen, Kim discussed Rob’s decision to re-emerge. “If he’s feeling good and in the right mindset, he’s open to putting himself out there,” she explained. “He’s having fun, being silly, and just made the choice to relax a bit.”
Kim further shared that Rob is comfortable with being back, particularly for the heartfelt scenes filmed at their mother Kris Jenner’s former residence. “He’s eager to be involved,” she noted.
For Kim and her siblings—Kourtney, Khloé, Kendall, and Kylie—Rob’s return is a cherished moment, but there is no obligation for him to remain on camera. “We want to respect each other’s boundaries,” Kim emphasized. “Not all of us need to share the same aspirations. Rob shifted his goals for a while, but now he’s comfortable with it again.”
Rob, who shares his 8-year-old daughter Dream with ex Blac Chyna, has previously opened up about why he distanced himself from filming. “I don’t wanna be filming and putting myself in a position where I’m not comfortable,” he explained during a July appearance on Khloé in Wonder Land. “I’m not comfortable in my skin, so why would I want to go be on camera and just be vulnerable and let people in when that’s not what I want to do?”
Still, the Rob & Chyna alum made it clear that his absence had nothing to do with family drama. “There’s definitely nothing wrong between any of us,” he said. “It just has everything to do with myself.”
