After making it down the aisle, Gino and Jasmine documented their life as newlyweds on 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? Although Jasmine and Gino were finally together in the United States, drama quickly ensued when Gino told her that he didn’t have $5,000 to start the visa process for her two sons.
Jasmine had a hard time accepting the news and admitted she was considering leaving Gino to move back to Panama with her kids during episode 4.
“I feel mad at myself for, for dreaming — for thinking that, you know, that I was going to have like a happy life,” she emotionally said during a confessional. “That’s not gonna happen. I’m such a failure. I want to go back to Panama, divorce — everything that I promise [sic] for my children just to tell them that it’s not gonna happen.”
In addition, Jasmine complained that her husband was “controlling” and used money as a means to “control” her.
“Gino is an American citizen. And he’s not getting what it is for me to be here, new in this country and be very limited,” the Panama native said in a private confessional during episode 12. “I was even an American literature teacher for 16 years and now I don’t even have a driver’s license … I’m at Gino’s mercy for everything.”
